If you enjoy dark fantasy, post-apocalyptic stories, magic and mystery, don't miss The Second Coming!

The story gripped me right from the first paragraph and I had a difficult time putting it down.

There were a wide variety of complex characters, many of them deeply flawed and with hidden agendas. All the characters were well developed and memorable. Gay or straight, it made no difference. Characters' sexuality were present, but never treated as "different".

I loved the vivid, imaginative world and the exploration of various religious beliefs and the conflicts that occur.

I also loved how this story was complete by itself, yet leaves open the possibility for sequels, which I eagerly anticipate.

Has anyone else read this or planning to read it?

What are your thoughts?

I am planning to read it in May. Maybe we could get a group together that plan to read it so we can discuss? I can't wait!

As Nancy said, my name is David H. Burton and I'm a GR author. I'm an adoptive father of 3 boys, manager of chaos, science and technology geek, person of the queer persuasion, and purveyor of sacrilege. If you want a more detail version of my bio, it goes something like this:

I was born in Windsor, Ontario to an agnostic mother that instilled in me the love of the written word and a Jehovah Witness father that taught me to question everything around me, including my own religious indoctrination. I graduated from the University of Toronto with a major in Biology and a minor in Classical Civilization. I also dabbled in Computer Science, to which I owe my current occupation in the Telecommunications world at one of the large banks in Canada. I live with my same-sex partner near Toronto with our three boys (brothers that we adopted together) and an old basset hound that keeps us all in check.

My debut novel was released 8 weeks ago and is titled The Second Coming. Here's the synopsis:

Five hundred years have passed since the Earth shifted on its axis - a catastrophic event that wiped out civilization and released the powers of the dead back to Earth. With technology long abandoned, a dark age has shrouded our world once more.
