So I havent gotten really into my book yet. I'm about half way and so far im enjpying it. In the book the main characters daughter Lucy is raped by a group of men and a boy. What I dont understand is why shedoesnt want to tell the police that she was raped. She only tells them that they were robbed. Is that supposed to tie into the title because she feels disgrace now after she has been raped?

Well..I think she does feel disgraced and violated by the gang rape, but then again, it's probably affected her judgement about men. So, the police won't really understand her traumatization.

Possibily even arrest them.
"Stephanie wrote: Do you think David's past mistresses have made him a changed man? If so, what are those changes? " I dont think that his past mistress changed him at all. If anything to me it seems they never happened. Not once during the book did he make a reference back to any of them. That's just in my opinion though.
