Aoibheann | 47 comments The books and the movies are both RUBBISH!!! I HATE the way Bella is all dependent on Edward and how she's willing to become a vampire and kill endangered animals. No offense, but seriously, I think that Twilight is a horrible book.

Chiara ♪*CheesecakeLover*♪ | 684 comments Because everyone is bringing forward Twilight's bad points, (not just you Aoibheann) my view of Twilight has changed immensely since when I first read it!

Christina | 91 comments Christmas Shoes.. is that like the song? I really like that song... Yes ultimate Gift is really sad... ***SPOILER***
I loved the Emily's home idea at the end though
Still yet to read the book... has anyone read it?

message 24: by [deleted user] (last edited Nov 29, 2010 02:00PM) (new)

You are right abot Christmas Shoes being sad, I heard the song a few years after my mother died. It broke my heart becauase right before she died, I planned on buying her some shoes and a dress for church for Christmas. She went to be with the Lord at age 52 a week after Thanksgiving, 16 years ago and it still is too sad for me to listen to the song or even watch the movie. My hope is in the Lord so I know I will see her again. It is just too hard to listen to that song. .
I do love the movie The Wizard of Oz... It was our favorite at Thanksgiving time.:)

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm writing a book about a little girl who is visiting her grandmother on a Christmas tree farm, and has to help save the farm from being closed down. She goes into the city to pass out flyers and meets a homeless family. It is something that I think could be a movie. I hope to finish it by next spring.

message 26: by Christina (new)

Christina | 91 comments I'm deeply sorry for your loss, I can't imagine....

I would love to read it! Let our group know when you finish it/publish it :)
I think I saw a movie sorta the same, but trying to keep a dog shelter open. "The Christmas Dog" maybe?
Dorothy: "Witches are old and ugly!"
Glinda: "I am a witch"
dorothy: "Well begging your pardon!" :)
I like that movie, too. It's a timeless classic, and I have 2 puzzles. Have you read any of Baum's other books?

message 27: by Christina (new)

I think at least 15 of them have to do with Oz... the only other one I've read was "The Patchwork Girl of Oz", and I hardly remember it; it was a while back when I read it...
5 children, that's neat- my cousins have 5 in their family too. Reading is definitely a wonderful pasttime, and I agree: writing is a beautiful release

message 29: by Catherine (last edited Dec 30, 2010 10:41PM) (new)

Catherine (cattymccat) OK. I recommend To Save A Life. It's a great Christian based movie (it has a couple of cuss words in it, but I think it's worth them to see this movie). I also recommend Despicable Me. It's hilarious & clean... It made me laugh, & I needed to laugh.

I need some ideas of what to rent tomorrow night! I won't be going anywhere for New Years because the little guy is sick, so we are just gonna rent movies & stay in. So I need ideas. :D

Preferably new releases! My best friend has seen almost everything that is older than a month old. lol

I saw the 3 Pirates movie and won't waste my money again. The 3rd was the worst and we nearly walked out!

Actually, THOR, is good. I've seen it twice. The problems are the previews - not appropriate for a family/kids movie.

Pirates #4 "On Stranger Tides".

Don't hold your breath. Having lived and worked in Hollywood, the powers that be are notorious for ruining books when turning them into movies. It is the RARE exception that translates well. Authors have NO say in screenplay adaptations, casting or anything related to their story.
