I frowned at Nicky. My friends all have brothers and we share the same thought about ours: what an annoying twerp!!"Anna!" he begged. his eyes were reddish, as if he were crying. His eyes looked scared. I finally sat up and looked at him directly. "what's the matter, Nicky?" I asked softly.
"I heard a sound!" He whined to me. "It sounded like a monster.""There are no such things as monsters now let me sleep."
"No!" Nicky cried. "Don't go back to sleep! I really did hear something."Now I was a bit curious. "Really? What did it sound like?"
"A monster!" Nicky wailed.
I rolled my eyes. "Can you describe it in any other way?"
Nicky frowned. "Um..it sounded...scratchy?"
Very descriptive, I thought sarcastically. "Show me where you heard it," I sighed, following my brother out of my warm bed.
I watched the two from beside the bed, furious. Dragons were not monsters! Invisible, I saw the girl, Anna, tumble out of bed.
((the monster? is a dragon...))
((Oh, okay! Cool!! We should find someway to be able to switch between views and not make it confusing...maybe, whenever it's the monster's view, it should be in all italics, or something like that?))Nicky led me to his room. "In there!" He sniffed, pointing to his closest.
I sighed. "Of course. Where monsters always are, right?"
Nicky nodded, not knowing I was sarcastic. "Yeah! Can you get mommy or daddy to kill it?"
I shook my head. "No, mom and dad need their sleep. We don't need to wake them up."
Nicky looked scared. "But the monster might eat me!"
I laughed. It was then that I heard the sound. Coming from behind me.
"That's it! That's the monster!" Nicky screamed.
I materialized behind Anna. "Dragon. Get it right." I purred soothingly.
((Fwit, whenever you talk in the dragon's view, can you make it all italics? or all bold or something?))
((k))
"Name's Lhylla." I purred, turning white-purple so that the humans could see me. "And I'm a dragon."
"Name's Lhylla." I purred, turning white-purple so that the humans could see me. "And I'm a dragon."
I spun around and stared, my mouth hanging open. I couldn't believe it. Nicky was right! There was a monster in his room!"See?" Nicky said, echoing my thoughts, a triumphant smile on his pudgy lips. "I told you!"
Don't tell me that, twerp! I wanted to snap but the monster itself was enough to keep me silent. What did it want?
Now I am really confused. First, this dragon doesn't bite our heads off, and now he asks for a place to stay? "What do you mean?" I ask slowly, carefully.
((I thought it was a she?))I sigh. These humans are turning out to be less intelligent than I had hoped. "I need somewhere to stay, to be for a few months. My kind isn't exactly popular, but even we have to stop running sometime, if only for a little while." I close my eyes against the memories that come, strugling not to start crying again. "Most of my family has already stopped running, forever. I don't want to have to join them."
I stared at the dragon for a few moments, my mouth still hanging open, feeling like an utter idiot, before I realized that it was waiting for an answer. "Oh, um...I...I have to ask my parents about that..." before I even finished, I blushed at how stupid it sounded. What would I ask them? "Oh, hey mom and dad, how did you sleep? So sorry I woke you up. The thing is, there's this magical dragon in Nicky's room right now, and he's waiting for me to ask you, if it's alright for us to give him a place to stay? I mean, it might be crowded, but he'll leave us alone most of the time..." I grimaced and changed tact."Well, obviously I can't ask my parents, nevermind then."
I bow my head. "I understand," I say sadly. I once felt the same way about my own parents, eagar to never disobay. I turn and walk out of the room. It was a nice dream, but I suppose I must keep going. If I'm lucky I might find a place to stay before I am caught and killed.
"Wait!" I called after the dragon. "I didn't say that you couldn't stay. I said I couldn't ask my own parents because they wouldn't believe me. But if we kept you a secret, me and Nicky, you could stay!"
"We could put you in the closet!" Nikcy piped up. I wondered if the dragon would be mad at that suggestion...
Closet? Is a closest that warm, small room I was in before? "Sure!" I said. "That would be very kind."
(You can't do italics normally on goodreads. You have to use this formula:(i)insert words here(/i)
except make it <> these things instead of () those.)
... okay! let's continue!
"No!" Nicky pouted. "I don't want a dragon in MY closet! Let her be in yours!" He argued.
"No!" Nicky pouted. "I don't want a dragon in MY closet! Let her be in yours!" He argued.
"I will sleep in the attic." I grumbled
Anna felt guilty. "no. It's alright. I'll take her with me Nicky. Come on. er..."Anna said, forgetting the dragon's name.
"right. Well then Jule, let's go. Nicky, go back to sleep. I'll see you in the morning." I whispered behind my back as I led the dragon out the door.
((actually, it's on the first page. name's lhylla))
(whoops again! man all week I've been having trouble with names!! *sigh* let's go on and hope I don't mess up... "(

"Anna. Anna, wake up!"
The voice rang around my ears, pulling my forcefully from my sleep. I blinked and yawned, my vision fuzzy. It took a minute for my eyes to clear. When I did, I saw that the person leaning over me was my little brother.
"What is is, Nicky? I'm tired. Let me go back to sleep!"
