I recently joined twitter and would like to meet some Goodreads friends. You can follow me at www.twitter.com/nadiabrown . I tweet mostly things that are writing related or can be useful to authors. Don Wallace who is a writer/actor/producer and my cousin starred in "Blue", a movie he wrote and produced in 2008. You can check out a clip of it on my Twitter page.

Hi Nadia,I am also on Twitter & am now following you. However, the link you posted doesn't work, it has a period after your name.
Here is my Twitter page:

There is also another thread here on Goodreads where you can meet oodles of other authors who are also on Twitter, if you like:

Cool, I had thought of creating a Twitter account for some of my book characters(like the sentient computer matrix installed in one character's head), especially since I'm in the process of writing the sequel to Warped & Wired. I'm just not sure if I have the popularity or exposure to effectively pull it off.
@ Joshua -- aww shucks, they don't have to be popular...YET! They'll get popular down the line and it might be fun for your readers, new and old.I have one draw-back to Tweeting for my character Beth Rider. I have to 'get into character' and Tweet what is happening from her perspective (the book is written in various POV) and it is stressful because she spends the majority of the book on the run. It is emotionally draining!
But I'm not complaining..just reporting :-)

Have you ever tweeted "in character" while writing the book? maybe little snippets here and there, nothing to ruin the story of course, just enough to keep readers intrigued about the coming sequel (or beginning novel).
@Timothy,
I set it where people have to ask permission for two reasons, one is I got tired of people asking me to join dating sites & I want to be able to decide who sees what. I accept most people, as I did you.

I think everyone has different reasons for their privacy status. In my case, I was dealing with a stalker at the time I set up my Twitter account. However, I decided to leave the account "protected" so that I could weed out spam, porn, etc.

ELLEN -- "I never thought of that. Good idea!"

Timothy,Thanks for your comedy. I love the YouTwitFace comment. Keep it up, everyday if you can!

I have a friend whose done that. It's really fun to get in character. I was going to make a Facebook page of my character.
I have Facebook pages for both Trevor and Mitchell -- I've noticed my readers prefer one or the other in the classic bad boy/romantic hero conundrum. I'd love more ideas of what to do with the pages, if you've got 'em!

I'm still trying to figure out the fb pages too. Apparently you have to know FBML(Facebook Markup Language) to make them really cool. Though with all the recent privacy upheavals I'm thinking of ditching fb altogether.
