Rob Joubert (Dog_Bert) | 2 comments G4B, have you joined any scuba specific forums? If not, may I suggest you have a look at ScubaToy's forum (yes they are a 'Net seller but their forums are open and free speech is encouraged). The link is http://forum.scubatoys.com/

Another one that i enjoy is The Dive Matrix - their link is http://www.divematrix.com/forums.php

Have fun!!!

Kimela (kimbalabala) | 2 comments I'm a new diver and my favorite purchase is my atomic aquatic octo. It swivels - so you don't get that feeling of having the regulator tug at your mouth when you move your head from side to side or up and down. I got the Pearl bc - wishing I'd gotten the Pearl I3.

Kimela (kimbalabala) | 2 comments I don't know anything about the different set-ups on bc's - just know the one I use and the one I used in my class, and they're both the kind with side pockets and integrated weights. I wish there was a place to take equipment out for test dives. It's a lot of money to spend without knowing what we're getting.

Lloyd Christensen | 7 comments My best investment in diving was my BC and largely because of the integrated weight pouches. I should point out that I'm fat, very round in fact, and I can't tell you how much air I used to waste just trying to keep a standard weight belt in place. Going with integrated pouches let me concentrate on my diving and easily added 10 minutes to each dive.

I have a Suunto Cobra. I don't know how it compares to those available today. I think it was a mid-price model back when I bought it but that was probably 2002 or 2003. Still works fine. It handles regular air as well as Nitrox.
