Hello. Just joined this group. I have NAUI and PADI.

message 14: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 7 comments I have AOW NAUI. I've been 100' but comfortable around 80'. Love seeing sharks, morays, turtles, goliath grouper. Not crazy about barracuda's - creepy.

Mostly dive in Jupiter, Florida. A couple of dives in Hawaii. It has been 1-1/2 years since my last dive due to being unemployed.

I like shipwreck diving. A technical cold water diver.

I haven't dived in a wreck but around some. I prefer warmer waters. That's not to say I wouldn't give it a try once or twice if the location offered a lot to experience.

Paul Mila (paulmila) | 2 comments Hi All,
I'm NAUI Advanced Open Water, coming up on 500 dives. Also have a PADI Underwater Naturalist cert and a TDI Nitrox cert.
I write dive adventure/thriller mysteries, and you can find my books here or at www.milabooks.com
Just took my first dive into non-fiction, with Bubbles Up, Buoyant Adventures in Planet Ocean.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Great! I have been looking for some new books to read. Do you dive cold water / wrecks as well? Any books on that? Similar to that of Clive Cussler's?

Paul Mila (paulmila) | 2 comments Hi,
The coldest water I dive is the Long Island NY area in summer, and not very often at that. Local dives include the Iberia off Long Island and the Nina off NJ, At this point in my life I'm a certified whimp -- I like warm Caribbean water with lots of vis.
Most of my fictional writing involves a husband & wife team who tackled Mexican drug smugglers in Dangerous Waters(before they were married), pirate whalers in Whales' Angels, terrorists in Fireworks, and spies & treasure hunters in Near Miss. The latest book, Bubbles Up is non-fiction, telling about adventures shark diving, free diving with humpback whales, getting caught in a barracuda feeding frenzy, flying with eagle rays, and a host of other adventures.
