The Romance Reviews (Carole) (The_Romance_Reviews) | 9 comments I especially looked for a historical fiction group after getting bitten by a Queen Victoria bug. LOL I watched The Young Victoria on DVD and now want to read about her life. Anybody has any good recommendations? I know Jean Plaidy has written some books on her, but any other authors?

Thanks!

She does make an appearance in Soulless by Gail Carriger, but the book isn't ABOUT her. :P

(It's a great book though, if you like cross-genre supernatural stories...)

And welcome to the group, if you haven't already been welcomed!

Thanks! And Soulless is on my TBR! :) Just don't know when I'll get 'round to it.

I'm sure! So I don't think I'll pick it up.

Anna Anderson (annaanderson) | 129 comments I have been bitten by the Queen Victoria bug as well after watching The Young Victoria! I have several Queen Victoria books on my TBR list, one is Victoria's Daughtersby Jerrold M. Packardand another one is Jean Plaidy's Victoria Victorious. There are several more out there, but these are just two I could think of right off the top of my mind!

Djrmel I ran across this blog entry a few days ago. The site's author has pulled together a nice list of fiction about royal marriages, including Victoria and Albert. It looks like all of the books she lists for Victoria are Plaidy books, with the addition of the one from the YA series "The Royal Diaries".

Jennifer (jennifertudor) | 266 comments One that I have is Her Little Majesty: The Life of Queen Victoria by Carolly Erickson. I haven't read it yet though so I can't say if it's good or not. I also have Victoria's Daughters (mentioned by Anna) and am excited to read that one at some point :)

This sounds interesting. Thanks for the suggestion.
