Alright, it's the 1st of June, who's started their reading? I'm about to crack open my copy (well, electronically, anyway. I bought it for my Kindle).

Scott (psykoboy2) | 2 comments I'm already into Chapter 2. I'm having a hard time with the characters as there seems to be quite a bit of people involved in this one. I'm hoping it was just a general overview of people involved and there will be more of a focus on a few central characters as I go further into the book.

Tim (hunterx280) | 50 comments I just finished the other book I'm reading. Planning on starting this today.

Clark | 4 comments Just finished. I loved the hell out of it. I believe it has cracked my top ten. I'm going to have to go track down the COG thread to see what you good people are saying about it.

Tim (hunterx280) | 50 comments I had a difficult time deciding what to give this book. I enjoyed it a lot but like quite a few books I've read recently, it felt incomplete. There seems to be a trend among authors lately that they need to write sequels. It's almost like instead of writing one comprehensive piece that could be almost entirely self contained, they leave room for a second or third book. I think it really hurts the book as they feel anti-climactic. This is a good book that wouldn't have suffered from another 100-200 pages of story telling. The book wasn't long to begin with and could have been much more fleshed out.

Kevin (khanes) | 13 comments The middle of this book was kind of a grind for me, though I may just be burned out on WWII writing. The end was pretty odd, and entertaining, and messed up. I like that.

After having read the novel I very much appreciate the cover art. The traipsing through the field of skulls with the nazi armband conveys the macabre whimsy evidenced by the character depicted. I remember being confused by the image originally, but upon reflection, I very much enjoy it as a metaphor for the book.

Brian (xerionus) | 13 comments What Tim said. I would of thought it was a long book (i'm a light weight) but I would of enjoyed a all inclusive title than milking for more.

This is great. I probably read more fictional books this year than any other book in my I have my entire life, thus far.
