So, here are my nominations to get the ball rolling. :)
HF: The Beekeeper's Apprentice by Laurie R King. I recently read "A Study in Scarlet" (the first Sherlock Holmes story) and this book was recommended to me. It looks very interesting, and I love me some Victorian era mysteries. :)
Any genre: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson because it looks really interesting, and has been recommended to me numerous times. :)

HF: I really want to read The Birth of Venus by Sarah Dunant. Several friends that have quite similar tastes to mine have recommended this one to me.Any genre: YA - The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Again, very highly recommended by lots of friends and I want to read this series. First, The Hunger Games in June, then in July, Catching Fire and then in August, Mockingjay, when it is first released.
HF: To Shield the Queen by Fiona Buckley. This one seems interesting because it combines HF with mystery so it's a little different than other books we've read in the group. Plus I own it and it will help me lessen my owned TBR mountain. :-)Any Genre: Soulless by Gail Carriger. This falls in the genre of steampunk, which is one not many people have been exposed too or heard of. Here is the wiki explaining the genre- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steampunk
A couple of GR friends have read this one and highly enjoyed it. Plus, I've seen it recommended in other groups. Help me be in the in-crowd and vote for this one. :D
Oooo ladies! I'm happy with Hunger Games or Girl with the Dragon Tatoo. Both have been highly recommended to me, both have been on my TBR forever and both I have recently purchased. Great noms ladies.

yeah, no need to nominate anything else, because the current nominations are great!don't let that stop you though ;)
P.S. Read the Hunger Games!!
My sister gushes about Hunger Games; I definately need to read it before she looses control and spoils it!

How about:HF: Aztec by Gary Jennings. Someone nominated this awhile back and I became interested in the blurb. Plus, a good friend recommended it. It looks epic and is supposed to have some sex in it.
Any genre: The Lions of al-Rassan by Guy Gavriel Kay. Historical fantasy, so it's not all that far off the theme. Kay's books are fantastic and this is supposed to be one of his better ones.

Chris, you're my kind of man. lol.
I want to re-nominate Portrait of an Unknown Woman by Vanora Bennett as my HF nomination. For my non-HF nomination, I want to nominate Pastwatch: The Redemption of Christopher Columbus by Orson Scott Card. It's a time travel novel that deals with history in a very interesting way.
Stop stop. Way to many good books that I want to read being nominated. Chris wins with Lions. I've wanted to read that forever!!
We're still nominating Gina. Becky will let you know when it's time to vote. Would you like to nominate something?
Yes, I would love to nominate Dark Places by Gillian Flynn. There is so much buzz about it. It seems to be a dark mystery. For my HF nomination, definitely Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks. I have had this book for a year and am dying to read it. The reviews are great!
The Fire: A Novel by Katherine Neville (sequel to The Eight)I, Claudius by Robert Graves *the sequel is just as good*
Hi all, this just a reminder that today is the LAST DAY to get your nominations in before the voting starts!!
Heather wrote: "I have absolutely no clue what I'll end up voting for this round. There are usually a couple that I'll end up leaning toward, but this round, my gosh every one of them sounds good!"Same here.
LOL Sorry... I guess I was hoping that we'd actually get some more nominations. I'll put it up right now.
I have already read The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo earlier this year and enjoyed it. I was not as enthralled as a lot of people have been, but then I have read that the story improves even more with the next two books in the series which I plan to get to sometime soon.
