Didn't like it as much as Ella Enchanted. And I liked The Two Princesses of Bamarre The Two Princesses of Bamarre even better.
WHOO HOO for actual females rather than Mary Sues and Bella Swans! One of the many reasons I love Gail Carson Levine. :} I actually know several boys who I think would gobble these books up.
But NOOOOOO my cousin thinks it's just girly stuff....
I loved the character from this novel, I had hoped, however, that there would be more fairytale aspects similar to Ella Enchanted (which is one of my all-time favorite books!). I'm not saying she had to copy and paste Ella but I wanted more giants or magic! The story was really fun though, I hope I have a little girl some day who I can read this to.
Who could possibly NOT like this book? Levine has an imagination that so many other authors lack! I love the fact that instead of some (like said above) damsel in distress, she is....well...the opposite. Her prince loves her anyway! He is in love with HER not her looks. This is something many young girls need to learn.
Loved the book I shall read it to my children when I have them and too my husband too and even dogs If I ever get some.
yeah it was okay. i mean, in the beginning it was sort of boring and slow but the ending is so sweet! i loved it. but i do like a little more action if you ask me. ;)
I agree with you. It started out very slow...but once you got through the beginning, it was amazing! I love the imagination that Levine has!!
