Papa and Me is a bilingual picture book featuring a day spent with a young bilingual boy and his father (who speaks only Spanish). I have not read the book yet, but the description sounds wonderful.
I like Papa Please Get the Moon for Me by Eric Carle, it reminds me of all that a father will do for a daughter.
I also like Just the Two of Us by Will SmithDaddy Hugs 1,2,3 by Karen Katz
David's Father by Robert Munsch
Dad and Pop: An Ode to Fathers and Stepfathers and Your Daddy Was Just Like You by Kelly Bennett
I Love My Daddy by Sebastien Braun
I like Froggy's Day with Dad by Jonathan London, actually all of his are pretty popular in our house.
My grandson always loved Let's Play Rough! when he was very small. I LOVE all of the Froggy books. Papa, Do You Love Me? is really just transposing Mama, Do You Love Me? Board Book to Kenya with Papa instead of Mama, but it's a lovely book. I haven't read it, but Daddy Goes to Work
by Jabari Asim looks very good. It's pretty funny about fathers, but I have to mention The Day I Swapped My Dad for Two Goldfish by Neil Gaiman. Hilarious!
I WANT Papa, Do You Love Me? Want, Want, Want. I also WANT Grandma Thinks I'm Beautiful. There is also "My Dad" by Anthony Browne. http://www.amazon.com/My-Dad-Anthony-...
I just remembered - my grandson and I really liked What Dads Can't Do by Douglas Wood
, with a very loving dino daddy whose limitations are conveniently just what his child needs. Very sweet. (There are others in the series - Moms, Grandmas, etc,)

I read the Moms one and it was very cute. I'll have to get this one for Father's Day :-)

The cover looks really good on What Dads Can't Do. Plus Dinosaurs too. Will have to look for that one. Defiantly.
I read a few books with a Father's Day theme and there were two that I liked.
A Perfect Father's Day by Eve Bunting:A nice story for Father's Day, given that I've found relatively few books on the subject. The four-year-old daughter plans a fun day for Daddy for Father's Day--but she ends up choosing all her favorite activities for their outings. I think this is done more from her own limited perspective and thinking that what she loves, everyone else must love, too (rather than out of selfishness--she even asks Daddy if he likes those things, which he responds to with "Of course.") It's a sweet story and I love the ending when the mom bakes a Father's Day cake and puts four candles on it--one for each year he's been a father. Too cute
AND
A Wild Father's Day n the morning, a boy and girl bring their father a card that wishes him a "Wild" Father's Day. Well, Daddy decides to take this to heart and so he says he and the kids will act like animals all day! They swing on monkey bars like monkeys, swim like dolphins, etc. The illustrations are very fun as we first see the dad and kids participating in the activity--then the next illustrations show animals (with the dad's glasses, boy's hat and girl's shoes or some pink accessory) doing the same thing. The ending has a super sweet "I love you" message from Dad that is nice to see in picture books.
I've got a few more of your recommendations on hold at the library and hoping they come in before Sunday :-)

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the dads out there!!!
I read two more books this morning. Daddy, What Is Love? is almost too close for comfort to Papa, Do You Love Me?--I do hope this was done with consideration for the original and not any "rip off" going on. As a story itself, though, it's quite nice. It's set in Hawaii and the illustrations are very evocative of place.
I also read Froggy's Day With Dad on Mina's recommendation and I must say I was charmed! It's so adorable. I just couldn't help but smile my way through. Thanks for bringing it to my attention! :-)

Just wanted to revive this thread with Father's Day coming up next month (at least, for those of us in the US and other countries celebrating in June).
The Picture Book Club will feature a "Fathers" theme in June and I thought I'd post a link to our wonderful Master List for those who might like to see the books about Fathers (though not necessarily Father's Day, specifically) listed there:

My children bought my husband "My Dad thinks he's funny" by Katrina Germaine for Father's Day. It's the perfect gift for any Dad who thinks he is funny (BUT is not!).

As Father's Day is coming up, you may want to look up some corresponding titles or add any you are familiar with to this list of Picture Books About Fathers.
There is also in place a discussion thread in this group on Father's Day books.
