In the year since my books was published I met all sorts of writer and each one has a different process. I'd love to hear your questions about writing life and I hope other writers will post their thoughts on their own practice.

When I first began my book, I was a very "green" writer. I couldn't sit still writing for too long even though I worked diligently for hours on my design work. it took practice, just like taking up a new form of exercise. Once I got going I did write everyday. During periods when I am traveling or otherwise supporting publication it's hard to write everyday. I am in the middle of a new project now, so I am getting myself back into writing rhythm.

Loretta | 1 comments I find that I get a feeling of excitment inside me and I have to write. The feeling will gnaw at me until I do. I can't say that I don't try to ingnore it if I want to play, but it will always be there until I decide to sit down and write. I guess the key is not to look at it as a chore, but to look at it more as a place you want to go.

Arthur "AJ" (aj2wings) | 2 comments I work to follow Julia Cameron's writing schedule: 3 pages about yourself when you first wake. 3 pages on something that you are writing. Each day do these.

Take yourself on some adventure to feed your creative soul - weekly.

Take a walk - weekly.

These items in combo have enabled me to create so many concepts to write that I will need several more life-times to complete them all.

Have decided to concentrate on my children's stories because I think they are easier to complete. I have 6 in first draft mode and seeking to do illustrations this summer.

I have worked with Julia Cameron's pages. Especially when I was beginning my memoir that ritual was very useful. I think any ritual that keeps you writing is useful!

And walking I find essential. Too much time at home trying to be productive often leads to no creativity whatsoever.

Good luck in your writing. Maybe you have good word days...
