Thanks for the info. I posted to my page on Facebook.

Funny that I'm reading Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency on Towel Day, I had no idea! ;) Will put it in my calendar. :)

Anyway, I've got the page on autorefresh 'cos I'm a geek, so I will see it as soon as it's up. :) I think it went down about 7 hours ago, and the last tweet from @bookcrossing was:

http://twitter.com/bookcrossing/statu...

"Matt sez #bookcrossing new site shd be online soon. Finishing DB performance tweaks & final testing!!"

chucklesthescot It's open but nothing bloody works! It won't let me edit my profile or any messages I put up, my virtual pets have all been wiped out from my profile which will not edit, bcids are being rejected-it is total chaos!

Anyone from bc who needs to contact me can PM me here or email me direct at
chucklestheprotea@googlemail.com

Cool. Same here, charlotte DOT lodge AT gmail DOT com.

Tried replying to a PM but it didn't work. I've reported all the bugs I found in the forums, and there are a LOT. I can't leave journal entries, edit my profile (my goodreads widgets aren't working), etc etc. I don't mind, obviously there will be teething troubles and the BC techies have been up all night so they should get some kip before they start trying to fix things.

I sent a message which seemed to go out okay... whether it was delivered or not is another story!

message 7: by Angela (new)

Angela (innae) | 8 comments I am adopting the wait and see method on BC -- I am hoping many of the bugs I noticed will get fixed in the next few weeks.

It is a pretty site.

Rita I noticed that my wishlist is an old one with no way of updating it, I suppose that's something that they are sorting. It looks good, it will just take getting used to.

message 9: by Abigail (new)

Abigail (abigailann) | 22 comments I can't say I particularly like the new layout tbh. Hopefully the wishlists will be sorted out soon

I'm with you on that one. It looks good, but it doesn't feel very space-efficient. In terms of space, I like the old layout more.

I've been popping in to the forums every once in a while, and they're getting some patches sorted, it's going okay - slowly but surely some of the issues are being fixed. :)

Cheryl (cherylllr) anybody been over lately? I'm scared, after what I saw the first morning...

message 12: by Paula (new)

Paula | 72 comments I don't think it's so bad. Once things get debugged, it might be ok. I think some things take more steps instead of less and some things aren't as easy as they once were. I'm referring to registering books (more steps) and adding books that don't have an ISBN are more complicated I think.

Okay, so recent bugs that have been fixed are:

* You can now update your profile, and the changes are shown immediately.
* The forums are now sorting the posts properly, though last time I checked you can't mark all as read yet.
* I can leave journal entries and edit journal entries.
* I think most people are able to leave release notes.
* Most of the wings features are either not working or gone completely. (Eg: sort by most recently journaled.)

I'm about to head over there to see what's new. :)

ETA: Oh, and PMs - most people are able to send and receive them fine. Some people are NOT receiving messages if they're sent with the "Send me a copy" box checked.

Abigail (abigailann) | 22 comments I think it'll be good once the bugs are sorted, its just a matter of being patient until then.

message 15: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (cherylllr) tx - I think it will be too; I just don't want to get enmeshed in aspects that are still being sorted out - I'll wait a coupla more days I think :)
