Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) Just wanted to say that I'm reading Kelly's second novel right now and loving it!

I finished Lilly's Wedding Quilt last night and I have to say... wow! I really enjoyed Sarah's Garden but this was even better. I mentioned to a friend that in other novels that courtship was so bland and hand holding but Kelly writes a steamy Amish romance. I can't wait for more!

Gail (widowretiredyahoocom) | 83 comments I just finished reading Lydia's Charm last night and it was very good, now on to another book but what? I don't know!

Barbara, I totally agree! "Steamy" is a good way to describe it, I called her writing "edgy Amish fiction" in my review :)

I love the passion that Kelly puts in her writing. I sometimes think that people see the Amish (and even Christians) as being like vanilla ice cream, nice but without much flavor. Kelly's writing is more of a sticky toffee pudding (and if you've never had sticky toffee pudding, you need to find some!) -- warm, sweet, and amazingly good.

Diane U (djuseless) Okay, you've sparked my interest with the "steamy". I am reading this one next! LOL!

Just saw on Fans of Kelly Long on facebook that her next book is titled "Threads of Grace" but no publication date. (She says that Seth is the next to find love.)

message 11: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) Oh, I can't wait to read about Seth! I thought the next book might be about him.

Me too, and with the title, Threads of Grace, I bet it's him & Grace Beiler -- especially since he was so emphatic that no girl around here was gonna turn his head.

message 13: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) Ah, I was thinking it was strange for the title not have a character's name in it but that makes sense, especially as she works with textiles!

message 14: by Camille (new)

Camille (camlovesraptors) | 802 comments I just finished Lilly's Wedding Quilt, and Rachel is right, it was steamy! Definitely a change from most Amish fiction, but for anyone wondering all the steaminess is still rated G, so it is appropriate for all audiences. :)

I am looking forward to the next book and I really do hope it's Grace & Seth that fall in love! I wonder what he did to make her so cold towards him...hopefully we'll find out!

message 15: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) Seth seemed to be a bit full of himself and believed that he could get any woman he wanted, so maybe that put Grace off him? She is, after all, a widow and more experienced with real life whereas Seth didn't seem quite ready to grow up!

I do love Kelly Long's style of writing, it's something entirely unique to the Amish genre.

Me too! I have "Lilly's Wedding Quilt" waiting for me to read it.

www.amishliving.com will be having discussions on the book in the Book Club group at the end of April.
Right now we are talking about "An Amish Love" by Beth Wiseman, Kathleen Fuller, and Kelly Long.

Happy Reading Everyone.

The stories take place in the same community & the characters intertwine. You'll get the ties when you read them.
