Hi, Everyone,Marta Perry checking in. I'm glad to see that fans of Amish fiction have a place on Goodreads!
Best,
Marta
Marta, I went to the library yesterday and the only book they have of yours is Anna's Return. I checked it out. Will I be really lost if I read it before reading the 1st two in that series?
No, not at all. But you might want to suggest to your library that they get the first two in the series!Marta
FYI!!!Murder in Plain Sight just became available today over on Net Galley for those of you that use it. I just had it sent directly to my kindle!!!!
I've just added Marta's next book to the list. Also, for those of you who get review books from NetGalley, it's on there!
Wow, I had no idea it got there so early. Great! I just received a few advance reading copies myself!Marta
My request has been approved so hopefully I'll get a chance to review this before the publication date. I really like the cover - very atmospheric! And I've just realised that Diane and I posted the same comment within minutes of each other - oops! I guess great minds think alike :)
Oh you will! The only publisher that turned me down was Carina Press because I had not done enough reviews yet. Which is okay by me since I only saw a couple of good suspense/thriller novels considering the rest were erotica.I was quickly approved my Abingdon Press, B&H Publishing Group, Harlequin, HarperCollins, Bell Bridge Books, Houghton Mifflin Harcort and Barbour Publishing Inc. That gives me plenty of options for free reading.
After you pick your list, be sure to check back regularly under Browse Catalog by Recent for new releases that are available.
Well I did not enter my profile and I was declined, I tried again after entering my data lol. I only have one book review at my blog so that worries me too lol.
I also got declined by Carina Press, I guess they're rather picky? Harlequin seem to respond very quickly so hopefully we'll all get a chance to give Marta and her publisher some nice reviews!
I was also declined by Carina Press wonder what their requirements are? Thanks for the heads up for Marta's new book. She writes such good books you know its going to be great! I have purchased the e-book for our Oct book read and look forward to rereading it.
I just started reading Murder in Plain Sight. Only a few pages in I'm already hooked! Way to catch my attention very early on Marta! :) I cannot wait to see what happens, but I am surely intrigued!
I just started it too. It does hook you. I promise Camille, I'm not copying you by reading the same book, it was the next one on my netgalley list lol
I think it's great we happen to read the books at the same time. It means we can give two different perspectives on the same book for our fellow Amish fiction lovers! :)
Marta, is Murder in Plain Sight the 4th book in that series or a stand alone book? I wanted to review it for Net Galley within the time frame and I know I won't be able to if I have to read the 2nd and 3rd books first!
I thought it was a stand alone book? Fantastic Fiction has it listed that way. Although, they do not know everything. The Three Sisters Inn Series is backwards on order as its listed on there. At least that's what I thought.
Murder in Plain Sight is the first in a new series from HQN Books. They're similar to the first series in that they take place in the same general area. The three upcoming books are linked, but each one is self-contained, so that you don't have to read all of them. The second one, Vanish is Plain Sight, will be out in June, 2011, and the third one, Judgment in Plain Sight, will be out in December 2011 or January 2012--that date is still tentative. Thanks! Marta

I just checked the publication dates on here and reorganised our list.
Thanks for the info, Marta! Did your publisher suggest the "Plain Sight" endings in the titles because of the success of your Love Inspired book, or do you just like it yourself?
Both, actually. I wanted to use it because I think it quickly identifies the book as Amish-themed, and my editor really liked the idea, too.Marta
I just started the 2nd book in the Three Sisters Inn series, and good job Marta! I'm already hooked. I'm honestly thankful for my cross-country flight tomorrow so I have a great excuse to read, read, read for hours!
I am so excited I get to review Murder in Plain Sight through NetGalley!! They turned me down the first time so I redid my profile and asked again and they let me!! I love Marta's books. I had no idea she had some stand alone books separate from Love Inspired line till I joined this group. I can't wait to read this book as soon as I am done with The Waiting!
Thanks, Camille. If you post a review anywhere, would you let me know? I'd like to forward to my editor.Marta
Hey Marta! I reviewed for NetGalley so they may have sent it to your editor already, but if not, my review is posted here: http://books-camilleelise4.blogspot.c...
Thanks so much, Camille. I'll send it on to her. (And btw, you'll learn more about the conspiracy in Book 2, Vanish in Plain Sight, coming in June.)
After reading Camille's review I kind of figured you would answer a lot of questions in the next two books(something I have learned from reading Love Inspired series lol). I can't wait to dig into this book!
Marta I just finished Murder in plain sight tonight. It was fantastic you left so much to be discovered for the next book!! Absolutely an awesome read. I can't wait to write my review for this book. I am also going to have to shell out the money for your other Amish stand alone books! You are such a great writer! :)
Thanks so much, Abbie. I really appreciate your kind words! Snowing outside my office window this morning. I wish I could stay home and write, but the historical society Christmas luncheon is today.
Best,
Marta
Okay, I finally got around to reading Murder in Plain Sight and really enjoyed it! Definitely looking forward to #2 as I have a feeling that some of the loose ends might be tied up there...?Here's my review: http://the-compulsive-reader.blogspot...
Marta, your books have been such a blessing to me! I was disappointed when I couldn't find one of them at my local library, but eventually I discovered it in the LARGE PRINT section! I felt like a little old lady, but it was worth it... the story of "Rachel's Garden" was wonderful and inspiring!
