Temple stopped the car and undid her seatbelt, sliding out of the silver convertible in one smooth motion. She and her cousin Chester had just arrived at Camp Greenwich, they had been going to it every summer together since they were eight years old, and now they were counsellors. She flashed a winsome smile at Chess as he clambered out of the car, and took a deep breath of the ocean air. This was her favourite place in the entire world and this year was sure to be the wildest yet. They were the first to arrive, but not for long, behind her she heard the crunch of tires on gravel. Temple turned around to wave at the car, but couldn't make out who it was through the glare of the sun.
Jacob and his friend Katarina had just arrived at the Summer Camp. Katarina un-buckled her seatbelt and slid out of the car. Jacob yawned, feeling slightly tired. He undid his seatbelt and got out of his car.
Chester slumped down on the hood of Temple's convertible, he wasn't at all interested in the newcomers.
Temple saw two people get out of the car, a boy and girl by the looks of it, but the sunlight was still too bright for her to make them out, even with her hand against her forehead blocking the sun.
"Hello?" she called out.

Temple walked up to the new girl, "Hi, I'm Temple Caldwell, and over there, lying about like a lazy mutt is my cousin Chester. You guys are counsellors too, right?"
Chester heard her insult perfectly clear, "Oi," he half-heartedly protested.

Katarina laughed, "Hey, I'm Katarina but everyone calls me Kat." she smiled, "Err, hi Chester!" she called to him. Jacob walked over.
"Pay no mind to him, he's a total good for nothing. I don't know why they hired him," Temple breezily commented.
Chester leapt off the car and trudged over, "Don't listen to a word she says," he grumbled, before grinning at Katarina, "Chester O'Hara, at your service."
Temple got ready to retort, but noticed Jacob for the first time. She smiled, "Hello."

Katarina grinned at Temple, "Oh hi." she said, turning to face Chester, "I'm Katarina Silverlake but you can call me Kat."Jacob smiled, "Hey. I'm Jacob Ridge." he introduced himself, "Nice to meet you..."

Temple waved at the newcomer, "Hi!"
Chester shook his head at his cousin's eagerness, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Katarina," he smiled.

"Well, I hate to break up this party but I think I'd better get my things and take them to my cabin," said Temple, "Chester, come help!"
Chester shook his head at Temple, "I'll catch up with you later," he said as she walked away, to Kat he whispered "Good riddance."

Katarina grinned, "She seems pretty nice." she said. "Okay. Talk to ya later." he told Temple. He looked at Michelle, "Oh..."
Chester laughed, "Maybe it's just a family thing."
Temple lugged her bags out of the trunk, stinging a little at Chester's slight. She pulled the envelope containing her information out of the suitcase, "Cabin 4," she read aloud.

"Do you know which cabin you're staying in? If you want I can walk you," Chester suggested sheepishly.
Temple arrived at her cabin, and saw that a girl (musiclover) that she didn't recognize was already there. "Hi," she said genially, I guess we're roomies."

Chester casually offered his hand to Kat, before realizing how weird and forward that was. Instead he let it slip back into his pocket, before starting to walk beside her.
Jacobs smirk washed away. Kat smiled, walking beside him. She glanced at him a couple of times, "So how long have you been here?" she asked.
Anna smiled at Temple "Nice to meet you. Um im just gonna go outside" She left the room. She walked around and decided to practise her solo jazz dance. So she started to dance
"Alright," said Temple, watching the door close behind her new roomie. She had yet to decide whether she liked Anna, but she did not dislike her. So that would have to be good enough for the time being. She decided to change into her bathing suit.
"Since I was eight," Chester grinned, "9 whole years. What about you?"

"It's funny that we haven't run into each other before," Chess said, "where are you from?"
Temple slipped on her favorite one-piece (it was still much too cold for bikinis) and headed out the door with a towel rolled up under her arm.
