I'm no longer me, I'm now Leah's mom.
I check in to see these awesome thread titles and topics, and I start to read through them, and then baby girl wakes up screaming and she seems to hate the computer unlike when she was noob and didn't notice it. Now she needs my undivided attention, 389 new diapers, both breasts, and a three ring stroller circus to keep from becoming purple with rage.

I miss you guys. That is all.

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments I haven't had to bring the bear out in a while. Everyone behaving lately (although The Ficus did volunteer to jump in front of me yesterday).

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Maybe Leah is jealous and needs her own GR account.

I remember being up in the middle of the night, esp. with the first and third kids, and wondering what I was doing wrong and what I could do to make the kid go to sleep. I watched a lot of tv while rocking back and forth in the middle of the night those days...

Anytime I've babysat my nephews and stayed with them overnight while my sister got some rest, I was somehow able to sleep-feed.

Lori Oh SallyLeah's Mom, don't you realize it is not about you anymore? *grins*

In 5 years she'll start school. Of course, you'll probably have another that will delay you-time!

Seriously, you have family members around you, take advantage and get some me-time, it will do wonders.

Kevin, my daughter is graduating on Saturday and I am right there with your wife. It is the beginning of a new adventure for us all!

I'm starting to wish we had TV

Lori I read, Sally, those marathon nursing sessions were great for that.

Yeah, I do a lot of reading right now. I'm reading The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding: Seventh Revised Edition, What to Expect the First Year, Second Edition, Secrets of the Baby Whisperer: How to Calm, Connect, and Communicate with Your Baby, and the book about sisters I have listed on my page.
Of course, I can never plan on where we're going to end up at any given time for a feeding, so whichever book is planted near that chair/sofa/bed by the stack of burp cloths is the one that gets read.
I think they design those baby instruction manuals in short bursts just so feeding moms with short bursts of time can get a bit read and feel satisfecho.

Lori Sally - hahaha. I suggest some other reading material. Pure escape stuff.

I listen to NPR all day long, Ms Petra. We tell time by what program is on.
At night our affiliate plays the BBC news and it creeps me out, so we "watch" netflix movies.

Lori, what do you recommend? We may take a trip to the library later.

message 18: by Lori (new)

Lori Ah, for escape I go to fantasy and scifi, but that's not your cup of tea. Whatever is escape reading for you!

And NOTHING that has to do with babies. :)
