★ Jess Do you like to write one story at a time, or multiple ones at the same moment? How many do you have in progress now? What are they about?
Are their any ideas you want to give away?

Miss Amelia (missameliatxva) I would rather write stories at once, but right now I have approx 6 WIPs and it's incredibly hectic! Every time I get a new idea, I write it down, but I don't want to forget about it so I'll pay attention to the new story idea for awhile.

★ Jess I have one main story going, though whilst im momentarily tired of that one/need a break/not in the mood, i work on a short story.

Right now i have soooo many story idea. The draw of my desk is full of scribble and ideas

Megan (megandarle) | 26 comments I'm always writing multiple stories at a time because while i'm writing one story an idea pops into my head and i think that will make a great story. so i start on that one. and if i don't have any time at that moment i just jot it down on a piece of scrap paper so i can rememeber it later.

Fhal (donellys) | 33 comments I write when I'm in the mood because if I'm not I don't write good xD
Before I write I think of a plot then when I am writing, ideas just keep popping out then I would forget to put what I though of before xD
I mostly get writer's block xD

★ Jess Amber-I toatlly agree with you!

I wrote the first 100 pages of my novel in about 3 days.
Since then, its taken me about 6 months to get 150.

Im sure when the closing time comes, that'll speed up as well.

Its just the middle kinda frustrates me. My language and style starts to droop and im less and less into it.

Its annoying.
Im gonna try and write some good quality story now. Wish me luck :)

I wish you good luck :D

Jordan (flyinglogicmonkey) | 54 comments Ah, writer's block. The bane of the writer's existence. I think it could have its own topic...

In regards to how many at once, I tend to work obsessively on a story for a while, then forget about it, then discover it later and the cycle repeats. Right now, I have at least ten story ideas on my laptop, though I haven't written in a while, due to school.

That's totally how I am too! I've only finished one book, but it's just the first draft that's finished. (I've been working on revising lately.) The only reason I didn't get bogged down in the middle was because I'm writing it with a friend of mine. (I'd write a chapter from my character's POV, then she would.)
For me, having someone nag me to write the next bit helped so much. It was finished in a little over three months because of that.

I usually write many together (2 or 3)... Some of them aren't that good but I write them down just so I could get them out of my head and go back to my main story... Usually I write one story and when the so called "writer's block" comes I continue the other one and so on... It actually works! Setting my mind off a story for a while helps me clear out a few things and make out were I've done mistakes and stuff...

i have the same problem. thats why i get so distracted all the time. I just can't think

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm totally different, I can only handle one at a time! I write down all my ideas in my spiral and when i finish/get bored with one i move onto the next! Lol im workin on actually finishing stuff..

★ Jess did my eyes deceive me, or was that number a triple digit?

Holy...

Still, three diggits...

message 16: by Arch (new)

Arch | 90 comments I can't write more than one story at a time. But, right now, I am only working on one of my interracial stories.

message 17: by Hope (new)

Hope (heyhopeful) I write multiple stories at a time because if I hit a dead spot with one, I can go work on another for a while, and I get inspiration and ideas for the first.

I agree, Jillian, quality over quantity! :)

message 18: by Ayunda (new)

Ayunda (ayundabs) me too. I'm working on one serious story, and two stories just for fun (I mean I'm not planning on publishing them).
But I do have lots of projects I couldn't finish, and mostly I just delete them. And I do have lots of ideas!!
