Dovestar leapt foward, claws extended, and landed with a limping fish clasped in her jaws. Closing her eyes, Dovestar gently sank her fangs deeper into the fish until it squirmed no longer. A satisfying kill did delight Dovestar, but she was sure to pay her respects to StarClan upon the creature's death.
Bluepaw walked around the camp.
Bluepaw walked over to Dovestar.
Bluepaw said, "Can we train today?"
Dovestar nodded, "Follow me." She swiftly padded out of camp, not looking back to see if Bluepaw was following.
"Okay," Dovestar tipped her head, as if weighing out the options. "Let's hunt," she decided after a pause.
Dovestar headed towards the river and leaned over it. She watched the waters intently, searching the depths for any fish.
Bluepaw stood still beside her, watching what her mentor did.
Whitefire slapped a fish onto the bank, then noticed it's sharp teeth. "Oh StarClan, I'm glad that one didn't get a bite of me."
Suddenly, Dovestar's paw flashed into the water, claws extended, and recoiled back with a twitching salmon.
"Wow!" Bluepaw said, impressed.
"Thanks," Dovestar beckoned towards the water, "Now you try." She gazed into the water herself, and the rough image of a StarClan cat appeared in the ripples. She looked around quickly, but no other cat seemed to notice it.
Bluepaw looked into the water, looking for a fish.
Bluepaw whipped out her paw and pushed a fish out, then killed it quickly.
((Sure um...))Whitefire padded out and started to run. Her paw got stuck in a hole in the ground and she yowled in surprise
Dovestar was shaken from her thoughts for a moment, and the cat in the water disappeared. The splash Bluepaw had made dragged her back to reality, "Good job. That was excellent."
ivyleaf heard the yowl and ran out to help wihitefire and pulled her paw carefully out of the hole ((what happened to it?))
Dovestar shook her head, unable to focus, "Let's head back. You did great, Bluepaw. I'll take you back out again at dawn." She trudged back to camp, exhausted.
"yes" she said respectfully turning to dovestar and noticed that she had a weired expression on her face and turned to whitefire "Stay here" and turned to dovestar "may i speak to you privatly?"
Dovestar shook her head, "I'm just tired." She then realized she should probably tell the medicine cat what was really bothering her, as she might know what it meant. "I saw a cat's face in the river instead of my own reflection. There seemed to be the glow of stars around it, so I figured it was a StarClan cat."
Dovestar shrugged, "My mother and father died when I was a younger warrior. But I haven't seen them since. I mean, neither have walked in my dreams before."
Dovestar was lost in thought for a moment as she recalled the cat hidden in the ripples. "It looked like it was a gray cat...similar to my pelt, but its eyes were hazel, and it looked terrified, yet wise. It looked as if it wanted to tell me something but said nothing. Bluepaw's splash jolted me from my thoughts and it disappeared."
"Of course!" Dovestar snapped, "She had a light gray coat with blue eyes. I'm basically a replica of her."
