Who is reading along? What do you think so far?

Elizabeth Isaacs (eisaacs) | 15 comments I bought it yesterday with the intent of reading just a few chapters and I finished it last night. Great read, but I'll wait until everyone catches up before saying anything else (I hate spoilers) :-)

Lani (crahfty) I read it about a week ago and enjoyed it. I liked that it took a different twist on something most of us have read about. I appreciated the ending and heard there's a sequel, even though I don't think there should be one.

I agree. It wrapped up nicely, but maybe there's a cool twist I haven't thought of yet.

Lani (crahfty) I have faith that if Bree Despain ended the first book so well, she should be able to write a second one just as well. Although some authors have proven this theory wrong *cough* Alyson Noel *cough*

Shannon (shannon_scoville) | 3 comments I read in April/May, but would love to be part of the discussion. I found the ending to be predictable and enjoyable. I would be satisfied if it ended in one book, but I will read the sequel.

Laura | 6 comments I read this book fairly recently and was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed the writing and the world the author created, and while I agree that it works well as a stand-alone book, that won't stop me from reading the sequel when it comes out!

Looking forward to the discussions!

Clary | 12 comments I'm currently on page 347 and truth to be told- a little disappointed... I don't like the style and grace is presented a bit too flat for my taste... I would have struggled with more doubts if I had to be in her situation... anyway, I can't stopp reading either so it definetly has the certain something!

My book is not in from the library yet but I can't wait!

I am number one on the list. Hopefully I get it soon before I go on a family trip.

Deborah I read it fast. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was surprised. I was annoyed the first few pages, expecting the goody good pastors daughter, but Grace grew on me fast. I'm looking forward to the sequel.

I have to leave out of town tomorrow and am afraid that I'll have to wait to get back to get this book from the library! bummer!

Miss Bookiverse (missbookiverse) I'm about halfway through and it's alright so far but I'm not impressed. I didn't know what the book was about at all (just had some kind of idea from the word "divine" in the title) and now I'm a bit disappointed because I'm kind of sure I have figured it all out and it was so painfully obvious what is wrong with Daniel... I hope there will be some unsuspected turns to come. If not, it's just another YA paranormal romance novel to me.

Grace (gdaminato) | 520 comments I enjoyed the book but I felt the title was a bit contrived.

I'm about 100 pages in and feeling the same way. I hope the ending is something unexpected b/c I think I've got it all figured out as well. Guess I'll find out soon enough....

Ali | 3 comments Thought this was pretty good as it kept me completely entertained that I didn't want to put it down!

There was enough of a twist at the end to make it interesting. At least I thought so. It's pretty obvious who or what Daniel is. The 'surprise' comes with one of the other characters.

Michele | 10 comments What's with the cover? It's beautiful and certainly eye-catching, but I don't get the symbolism.

Or are they just using sexy, super-skinny legs as a way to sell the book?

Anyone have ideas?

I thought the same thing after reading the book the first time. But then I remembered that on the night of the party, April dressed Grace in a white dress, matched with purple nail polish and a purple chiffon scarf. But given the subject matter of novel, was this cover really necessary?

Miss Bookiverse (missbookiverse) I remember Grace wearing such a dress as well but I agree with Helen, it doesn't play a big role in the book. Also I've seen in a lot of blogs that they are giving away covers of the book combined with purple nail polish (like the girl on the cover wears) and even though I think it's a nice gimmick I don't think it has much to do with the story itself.

I have read out the author giving out nail polish too. Cute... but nothing to do with the story. That seems more like something you would give away with Gossip Girl or something. If I saw this cover and was looking for a supernatural book I would just go past this book because of the cover. I like how the colors are black and purple.... but the right leg bothers me sooooo much! It looks weird like there is no knee. I thought for sure something was going to happen to her leg during the story.

Ha Ha! so true! ;) What bothered me the most though, were the skinny ankles. They look like they could do a lot of damage.
