How do you feel about books that your school gives/gave you to read? What were some of the books that you have had to read?

In middle school, I hated it. The books just seemed to suck. Like The Red Pony which we had to read in groups and I had a horrible group so that was part of it too. Now, in high school, I don't mind as much. I enjoyed reading Of Mice and Men last year. This year, I'm going to be taking AP English and Compostition and AP US History. I have been given 3 books to read over the summer and I'm actually looking forward to one of them, 1984 The other two I'm not so sure about. I have to read Uncle Tom's Cabin and the scarlett something. I forgot. I better get busy reading those because I have a lot of work that comes with it. :)
My favorite book I had to read was A Land Remembered by Patrick D. Smith. I had to read that in 9th grade. Loved that book. Another book I didn't mind was The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. I knew Tom Sawyers story but I had never read this one.
In college I had to read The Color Purple by Alice Walker and I loved that book too. I took a little getting used to with the dialogue and everything but the book was really good!
@Lindsay: I read Uncle Tom's Cabin years ago, but I remember thinking it was good
@Sherri: Is The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn okay? I've only read Tom Sawyer's story and I liked it.
I usually neither love nor hate school assignments. In last three years, I had to read Julie of the Wolves(in German of course) and Blueprint Blaupause, as far as I remember. Both were okay.

Huck Finn was good... not as fun as Tom Sawyer who was a trouble maker but a good book none the less. Huck takes place after Tom Sawyer's book and he has to do a lot of growing up b/c of some things that happen in the beginning.
Oh gosh, Lindsay... The Scarlett Letter? GOODLUCK!! xDHm, last year i had AP Lit, we read The Metamorphosis and Wuthering Heights, and i really didn't care for those. :P
But we also read The Kite Runner, which is one of my favorite books. Amazingg.
