Pollyanna (polly8) hi, I thought I'd start a conversation here :)

I love Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, I finished it last week and I am desperately in need of the second book now. I enjoy Claire's journey in the film and I love her relationship with Jamie even though it is pretty flawed.

Who else has read this book?

message 2: by Tessa (new)

Tessa I have read the first 4 books in this series and loved them all, however Outlander is my favorite.

Film?!? Do tell.

I have read the first three books, in fact I just finished Voyager a few minutes ago. IMO Jamie Fraser is one of the best written heroes ever.

message 4: by Alycia (new)

Alycia I agree with you Tessa, Outlander is definitely my favorite. I can't wait to read books 4-7!

Genres? I love to genre jump so a little bit of everything. But my favorite genres are pnr/uf, historical romance (I love historical fiction too), erotic romance, contemporary romance.

whoops meant in the book lol, although a film is being made at the moment. My only concern with that is that I don't think they will be able to find anyone who lives up to Jamie.

i'm the same way, a lot of the time travel ones i read have historical fiction..some of them are about changing the past too. the ones set in Scotland and the West are some of my favorites.

the only thing i read that wasn't time travel is Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter novels. now those are really addictive. lol

i haven't actually, do you know anything about her books so i can have a little summary of it? :)

message 19: by Alycia (new)

Alycia Here is the synopsis for Seducing Mr. Darcy. I have a weakness for him, there are mixed reviews, but I have talked to some people that really like it. I believe it won a RITA.

Mr. Darcy just isn't Flip Allison's style. She prefers novels that include hot sex on the bathroom sink to the mannerly high-tension longing of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. That is, until she pays a visit to Madame K, who promises a therapeutic massage with an opportunity to "Imagine Yourself in Your Favorite Book." Somehow on the way to a sizzling sink top session with a Venetian Adonis, Flip lands right in the middle of Regency England--and dangerously close to handsome Mr. Darcy. So close, in fact, that she discovers you can't always judge a book by its cover.

Flirting with Forever is a new release and I have peeked into it, but haven't gotten far enough yet to give an opinion, the artist (hero) definitely did exist in history. The synopsis:
an ambitious writer discovers that bad-boy painters are as timeless—and irresistible—as their art. . . .Art historian Campbell Stratford is about to make a name for herself with her scandalously sexy tell-all “fictographies” of famous seventeenth-century artists, but she’s more iintimately familiar with her subjects than her eager readers can imagine. Thanks to a time portal she accidentally discovered, she has caused quite a stir in the Great Beyond. To save their reputations, the Guild protecting dead artists convinces playboy Peter Lely, portraitist to the king, to sabotage Cam’s latest project. A few hours posing on Sir Peter’s modeling chaise leads to a night of seductive passion—then Cam returns home and discovers his betrayal. But before she can turn her angry pen on her lover, Sir Peter makes a surprise visit to the future and transforms Cam’s twenty-first-century life into chaos of classic proportions. . .
