Congrats on the granddaughter - so exciting! And I'm jealous of your 4 seasons... I have seriously considered moving up north. I'm getting a bit tired of L.A. weather.

Hello! I'm Carin B. and I'm a book blogger and avid reader! I live in Texas with my husband and two whippets. I love reading Fantasy, Science Fiction, other fiction besides YA, Romance, and Christian, and some non-fiction.I probably won't be able to participate in a Book of the Month right now because I'm in several groups that do books of the month on Shelfari. :)
Hi! I'm Nadia and reading is one of my vices. I have a book blog, a super long list of books I am itching to buy, a huge TBR pile and a few reading challenges I am in the midst of tackling. I live in FL and am already stocking up on sunscreen, because the heat has been fierce lately. I'm excited about this group and look forward to chatting with you all about some good reads! Cheers!!

Hi Carin! Glad you're here. No need to participate in the book club -- there's tons of other stuff to talk about too. And who knows, some of the books chosen might be books you have read so you can always jump in with your opinions!

Hi Wallace! I was glad to see you are giving it a go again. I had fun with your last group, so I'm looking forward to this one! Cheers!
Hi everyone! I'm a part-time nurse and full-time mom of 2 little boys and a huge reader! I read fiction, historical fiction, fantasy, sci-fi, and horror mostly. I was born and raised in Southern California but now live in Texas where there is mostly 1 season -HOT!
Carin! I just looked at your profile and saw that you live in Round Rock. I live in Leander! What a small world :)
Welcome Zoe! Where in SoCal were you raised?
Zoe and Carin which big city are your towns near? One of my very best friends lives in Houston.

Oh cool! I'm in Santa Monica. My friend who is in Houston lived in Austin for awhile and says it's her favorite TX city.
I LOVE Austin. It's pretty much the only city in Texas I'd want to live in. Did you grow up in the L.A. area Wallace?
No, I was born in Illinois and grew up in Colorado. I was in Northern Cali for college and migrated south after graduation. I've been here for about 8 years.
Zoe wrote: "Carin! I just looked at your profile and saw that you live in Round Rock. I live in Leander! What a small world :)"I actually live in Cedar Park! We are really close. Not sure why i says I live in Round Rock. Haha!
I'm Linda from North Carolina. Kathryn, thanks for the invitation to join. Always enjoy hearing from you. Wallace, I look forward to being a part of the group from its beginning. Other members, I look forward to learning more about you and your reading interests. I live in a small town in eastern North Carolina. Love reading (of course), musical theater, needlework, gardening, traveling and following UNC-CH sports. Our two daughters live in DC and I visit quite often and take advantage of all the city has to offer.

By the way all, take Kathryn's lead and please invite any friends who you think would enjoy the group to join us. They are welcome here. The more the merrier! :)
Hey everyone!I'm Athira, but go by Aths or Aicee, so you can call me whichever is easy for you, LOL! I'm in my last week of grad school at Virginia Tech, and will soon move to Lynchburg to start work. I'm originally from India, but been in the US for the past two years.
Glad to "meet" you all and discuss books with you!
Hey Aths! How are you? Welcome to the group! I just checked out your review of The Color Purple on your blog - love that book! By the by, that is so exciting about finishing up grad school and starting a new job! Congrats!!
Hey Nadia, nice to see you here! The Color Purple was definitely amazing! And yep, I'm glad to be done with grad school and excited about working again. Though I'm sad to be missing my friends.
Haha, I just realized the above might sound like I'm talking about a half-way house or something. Just a note to everyone, Aths and I had a Twitter convo while she was moving into the place she will be staying before she moves to Lynchburg (right??)
LOL, Wallace! Spot-on! Haha! I finally moved to my "transition" house (Love the phrase you coined). In another two weeks, I'll be moving again to Lynchburg. I'll be so glad when these moves are done!
Hola! My name is Raymond, I'm from San Antonio, TX. I really enjoy reading. Usually when school starts I slow down on the books and occupy myself with school and activities, but in the summer I really try to shove in as many books as I can. I'm just looking for a good place to see who's reading what and what I should read next!
Welcome Raymond. :)
Ahhh... two more weeks and then you are done! Then your books will have a new home (and thanks to your packing job, will be organized).

Hi everybody, I am Rikki from Germany. I saw Wallace mention this group a few times on twitter and got curious. When I noticed the book suggested for th September read I decided to join.
I have a book blog where I mainly - but not exclusively - review gay fiction and try to come up with other book related topics in between.
If I am not reading I am working at a hotel, look after my two boys or do some beading or digital scrapbooking.

Hi, I'm Janelle from Massachusetts. New to the group and looking forward to connecting with fellow readers!
Hi Rikki, Fiona, an Janelle -- welcome!
Rikki and Fiona... I haven't checked yet if you've already done so, but if you haven't make sure you post your blog link in the blog section so everyone can become fans. ;)

Hi Raymond, Rikki, Fiona and Janelle! So glad you all found this group - it'll be fun chatting about books and bookish bits with you lot! Cheers!
Am I too late to join the party?Like, Fiona, I never know what to say for these things. I could go on and on or just give a teaser. Do I say something weird about myself to standout or do I just go with the flow and say that I love books? Here goes nothing!
My name is Gwen and I Chew & Digest books. I review for my blog and a few publications and live on the central coast of CA. My favorite genre is nonfiction, but I fall off of the wagon a lot.
Hi, Gwen! So glad to see you joined. What's your blog's URL? That's great you love nonfiction - I've only read a handful of nonfiction texts, but a looking to expand on that, so it'll be great to pick your brain for recommendations. Looking forward to chatting about books with you! Cheers!
Hi Gwen! No way, you're right on time ;)
Glad you're here... we can talk in more than 140 characters on GoodReads, haha!

I'm a chronic group lurker. I know Caren and Wallace from Twitter. I look at this group ALL the time but never joined until now. I'm a heavy fantasy-scifi reader almost to the exclusion of every other genre out there so I kind of feel like I have nothing to say that is meaningful in groups like this because I tend to be the odd-one-out. Oh well. I'm here anyway. :)I'm Sarah (obviously). I live in Utah (at the moment). I'm an active book blogger (bookwormblues.blogspot.com) and professional photographer. I read somewhere between 150-200 books/year if it's a typical year, so saying I'm a bookworm might be a slight under statement (haha).
Anyway, I always enjoy meeting others who enjoy reading, regardless of whether we share the same genre preferences or not. There aren't enough readers anymore!!!
Hi all! I know Wallace, Fiona and Carin from Twitter, and probably a few others as well.
I live in Saskatchewan, Canada, with twin toddlers (everyone seems to find that interesting!) and well I have a rather large TBR pile :)
That's about it. I'm looking forward to talking to lots of people about books & everything else :)

Hi, Sarah and Bella! Welcome to the group! Looking forward to chatting with you both about books! Cheers!
Okay, so I am late to the party but I just read this thread and I'm excited to be here. Thanks for the invite! I'm Melissa, Kaliki is a nickname - thought I'd use it to save confusion with other Melissa's on GR but call me whatever works. I'll answer. :)
I grew up in Iowa and am now living in south central Nebraska, after a stint in northern Calif for 8 years. I live on a lake and love anything to do with the water, as well as running, biking, yoga, and writing. I'm married 17 years, with two dogs and no other kids.
Love life, love to read, love to sing, love to laugh.
Hello! I'm Liz & found this group through some of my friends here on goodreads. I'm from California, am married, & have an extremely busy toddler.I'm excited to be a part of this group & to see how it goes here!
Hi, I'm new and my name is Judi. I'm on page 84 of The Gargoyle and I think it is mesmerizing. I know, I'm a little behind but I am a fast reader so I will catch up. I stayed up until 2:00am reading and I could not put it down. I have committed myself to making 120 chocolate cookies and I have to get busy so I hid the novel from myself. ha ha I think I will enjoy the rest of the site because I have read many unputdownable books! Kaliki recommended this site so to her I say, "Thank you very much."
Hi, Liz - good to see a familiar face. Judith, I read the Gargoyle last month and was amazed at Davidson's creativity. I loved the stories within the story.

Hi there - I heard about this group in another group & thought I'd check it out. I'm always looking for those books that you just can't put down. (Hi Melissa, Linda & Liz! Fancy meeting YOU here!)

You can introduce yourself here if you want. I'm Wallace... the moderator of this group and the author of Unputdownables (www.unputdownables.net). Glad you're here!
