The Host, by Stephenie Meyer
The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins
Uglies, by Scott Westerfeld
:):)
Well, I loved the Hunger Games - it's one of my favorite books - and I though Uglies was good, but is The Host really that great?Anywayz, I totally agree with Megan on the whole HG thing, and I definitely recommend The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Also, Graceling and Fire by Kristin Cashore, and Unwind by Neil Shusterman.

OOH, I can't believe I forgot Graceling on my list!! I LOVE that one! *sniff* haven't read Fire yet :(:(
Oh I love The Host and The Hunger Games! Graceling wasn't shabby either, but I didn't like Fire (sorry Mimi!) I would recommend The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima. Or any of her books really. Just to let y'all know there are actually NO "demons" in The Demon King . . . I was wary of reading it cause is sounded . . . creey at first (the title I mean) but then I read the front flap and it sounded great . . . it WAS great!!
I would also recommend Beautiful Creatures . . .hmm, maybe, but I do not know if people who like Incarceron would like that book, lots of "magic" but not so much the sci-fi vibe.
Also The Named which I absolutely adored, and The Hourglass Door which was pretty cool!
Yes I can totally understand that M. The pacing was a little off - but I did like the story and the characters! I bet you would like The Named better . . . or Old Magic (again no sci-fi . . . in Old Magic that is, in The Named I guess you could argue that there is a sci-fi vibe, but then, a lot of it is purely magic - the fantasty kind. Yes but then remember the citadel, well yes but remember Mr. A! Well maybe . . . hmm . . . yes I think there is a sci-fi vibe). I sound so crazy when I fight with myself!! Hahaha . . . do you know when Bitterblue is coming out? I am still planning on reading it even though I didn't like Fire all that much.
I'm going to have to finish Graceling. I stopped roughly a third of the way through because I got distracted by the Hunger Games.

Sorry, I confuse people a lot!! In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if you're confused right now. I'm confusing myself! Okay I better just shut up now :)
Megan - I understood what you were trying to say (being at least equally crazy!) and I totally agree! Those are two of the best books EVER!! So sad to have to choose between them . . . at least it is summer so you have more time to read Laura!
You guys are totally right... But if I had to choose, it'd be Hunger Games (sorry Katsa). The last book, Mockingjay, kind of disappointed me, unfortunately.
Yeah I would have chosen The Hunger Games too (if I had to choose!) Mockingjay was really good, but I understand why you were disappointed - it was very different from the first two. I was SO SAD that Cinna died - he was my FAVORITE secondary character. . . I literally cried every time Katniss thought of him. :(
I expected Cinna's death, but Finnick? Where is the justice?! (Hehe, although the whole point of his death was to prove how UNjust it was...) Annie didn't even cry for him! He got eaten alive, and then, the end. I was sooooo mad.
I anticipated Cinna's death as well but I was holding on to hope by my fingernails, I was WISHING that he would PLEASE be alive when I started Mockingjay, and then when he wasn't . . . it was a cry fest!!Finnick's death was sad too, but I didn't have time to absorb it really I was like - "WHAT Finnick is DEAD!!" - and then I had to keep reading because everyone else was still in danger and I wanted to know what happened.
Do you think that Annie will be ok without Finnick, I mean he was sort of her link with reality and now he is dead, that is what made me really MAD. I mean in Harry Potter two of my favorite characters die at the end but they died together so it sort of made sense, but Annie was left alive and I just wonder what kind of life she will live. I almost wish she would have died too (perfectly rotten I know). My sister thinks she would be fine because she has Finnick Jr. - what do ya'll think.
BTW I do realize that these are fictional characters and so it "doesn't really matter" but to me they are so real (Great job Suzanne Collins in making them real!) and I really am worried about her . . . weird I know, but stil the truth!
