My second book will involve a lot of international intrigue.

What books have you read that totally drew you into the story and why? Were there good plot twists? Was it predictable but still worth reading? Was there any romance (I love a good romance too!)?

My faves are Jeanie London's In the Cold and Stieg Larssen's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Girl Who Played with Fire. I haven't read the 3rd book in the trilogy but will soon. Both offer great character development, steamy romance (especially Jeanie's), and some unexpected plot twists.

Cathy Brantley (catbratty) | 2 comments I came onto an author recently by a strange coincidence. A guy that I worked with told me about his neighbor that writes historical romance. I really haven’t given historical romance an actual chance before but to support a local writer I thought I would give her a try. I purchased “An Indecent Proposition” by Emma Wildes and I could not put that sucker down!!! She draws you in to the main characters and brings another underlining story into play. I hope that I make sense in what I am saying – it’s early yet. I made a mad dash to the store to get her next book “Lessons from a Scarlet Lady” and I loved that one even more. I bought her book “Seducing The Highlander” and it was three smaller stories in this one book, it was good also. Some comments on this book were they wanted more from each of the stories. I didn’t mind because, well they were short stories. LOL
Another author Lisa Kleypas has a series out that really sucked me in was the “Travises Series.” I picked up “Smooth Talking Stranger” while waiting to get a prescription filled at the local store. I fell in love and realized it was the 3rd book in the series. I finally found books 1 “Sugar Daddy” and the 2nd book “Blue Eyed Devil.” (the second book was a hard to find book in the stores)
These are the romance books that I have recently read that kept me up at night. I love to read funny and witty characters they really draw me in.
I am really looking forward to your next book. "Passion Fish" also kept me up at night reading the book, even when I read it on FF LOL. It was one that I even read more than once on FF.
