Kellee Moye (kelleemoye) August 2010- Friendship Day: Read a book with "friend" in the title OR read a book where the main characters are friends.

Happy reading!!

Angela Sunshine (angelasunshine) Kellee, what if the main characters are three friends? I'm going to read l8r, g8r for challenge 5, and the series is about 3 BFFs.

Amelia (pwnedkitten) | 198 comments Kellee, does Catching Fire/Hunger Games work for the MCs being friends? Sorry - I might be a bit slow on the uptake with this challenge.

Thanks - not having read the books before, I wasn't sure if the MCs being friends were a major point or not or... something. :)

I can't wait, either!! That is too funny, Heather. I don't think my library lets people put holds on books not yet in the system. I'm going to preorder mine, just as soon as the Borders website starts cooperating with me!

message 15: by Amy (new)

Amy I preordered my copy too! :)

My library lets you put it on hold if they have preordered copies or if copies are there just not barcoded yet...

I got a Mockingjay pin with my preorder ;)

I know- they are so cool!!!
If you know a teacher around you, you could probably have them preorder one for you from Scholastic and you'd get a pin.

Angela Sunshine (angelasunshine) Dear Enemy by Jean Webster is the sequel to Daddy Long Legs. It's all written in letters, too. I almost enjoyed the sequel more than the first book!

message 21: by Mandy (new)

Mandy (mldavisreads) | 210 comments I read No More Dead Dogs, which is a middle grade book where the main character has to decide who his friends are- the football team members, the drama club, some of the people from both perhaps?

message 29: by Amelia (new)

Amelia (pwnedkitten) | 198 comments Erin wrote: "Hi I'm new. I understand the challenge but how does the point system work?"

You get 2 points for the first book you read within the month. You then can get 1 more point for every other book you read that fits the criteria, through the end of the month.

If you miss a month, you may go back and read 1 book for 1 point (for example, if you read a book with the word "summer" or "sun" in the title, you may get 1 point for June's task). Post those books and points in the appropriate discussion board.

message 30: by Kellee (new)

Kellee Moye (kelleemoye) Sorry guys- been MIA a bit- time for teachers to go back to work :)

Fixing the points now.

Erin, if you have anymore questions, feel free to message me. :D

Did you read all of them in August?
