Kellee, what if the main characters are three friends? I'm going to read l8r, g8r for challenge 5, and the series is about 3 BFFs.

Kellee, does Catching Fire/Hunger Games work for the MCs being friends? Sorry - I might be a bit slow on the uptake with this challenge.
Jennifer W wrote: "I would say they work."Thanks - not having read the books before, I wasn't sure if the MCs being friends were a major point or not or... something. :)
I preordered mine from Scholastic and it will be delivered to me the week of release. I am SO excited for it, but sad for it to end...
Heather wrote: "I've got it on hold at the library already.. 74 of 276 holds on 0 copy. hehehehe"That is priceless!!
I can't wait, either!! That is too funny, Heather. I don't think my library lets people put holds on books not yet in the system. I'm going to preorder mine, just as soon as the Borders website starts cooperating with me!

I got a Mockingjay pin with my preorder ;)
Heather wrote: "Want one!!!!"I know- they are so cool!!!
If you know a teacher around you, you could probably have them preorder one for you from Scholastic and you'd get a pin.
Dear Enemy by Jean Webster is the sequel to Daddy Long Legs. It's all written in letters, too. I almost enjoyed the sequel more than the first book!
I read No More Dead Dogs, which is a middle grade book where the main character has to decide who his friends are- the football team members, the drama club, some of the people from both perhaps?
Completed Tasks: AugustMercy on These Teenage Chimps by Gary Soto 8/2/2010
Ronnie and his friend Joey have turned thirteen and all of a sudden everything has changed: they are chimps (Ronnie's way of describing how they are changing). The story deals with a few days in the boys life right after their birthdays. Joey has decided to live in a tree and never come down, so Ronnie has to fix everything so Joey will go back to his normal life.

Just finished Karma Bites which is about a girl who discovers magic and tries to use it to make her two best friends like each other more. :) Great and funny middle grade novel.
Just finished Wild Things, which is a wonderful book! Two of the main characters, Henry and Fred, are friends in this terrific story about how adoption can turn a child's life around.
Erin wrote: "Hi I'm new. I understand the challenge but how does the point system work?"You get 2 points for the first book you read within the month. You then can get 1 more point for every other book you read that fits the criteria, through the end of the month.
If you miss a month, you may go back and read 1 book for 1 point (for example, if you read a book with the word "summer" or "sun" in the title, you may get 1 point for June's task). Post those books and points in the appropriate discussion board.
Sorry guys- been MIA a bit- time for teachers to go back to work :) Fixing the points now.
Erin, if you have anymore questions, feel free to message me. :D

I'd still count it. Lovers can be friends too.
Did you read all of them in August?
Yes I did. I also read The Van Alen Legacy, Voices of Dragons, and Beastly. I also read Extras but her friend is a computer. I know the other ones are friends with mythological creatures but I draw the line at computers. Also, I swear to god I have a life I just read a lot in my spare time.

Does it have to be a YA book? I just read Some Girls Bite and Friday Night Bites and the main characters are friends but the books are in the adult paranormal romance category and this is the YA thread.
Knightley Academy had three boys who become friends as the main characters. And...
Manifest also had a trio of friends as the main character - two girls, one boy. :)
Erin wrote: "Does it have to be a YA book? I just read Some Girls Bite and Friday Night Bites and the main characters are friends but the books are in the adult paranormal romance ..."Yes, it has to be a YA or Juvenile book (unless stated in the task, like July's)- Sorry :(
