Dang, I read The Dust of 100 Dogs last month...it would have worked for the Pirate character. Just checking will MG books work for banned/challenged books?
Check the link that Kellee provided. They have the top 100 banned books by year and by decade. If your book is on there, it counts!
Can I use "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian" by Sherman Alexie?http://www.news-leader.com/apps/pbcs....
I never knew that the Gossip Girl series has been frequently challenged. I've been meaning to read the books anyway so I'll pick one up at the library. :)
Just finished reading Speak, which is one of the top 100 books challenged from 2000-2009 according to the site above. It really was a powerful book and one that a lot of teenage girls should read.

Hi Kellee!Just read Bridge to Terabithia and The Adventures of Captain Underpants, which were both on the Banned Book list. :)
I also read The Adventures Of Super Diaper Baby, which also made it on the Banned Book List... why all the hatred towards Dav Pilkey? I can't keep these books on my shelves at school!
Kristen wrote: "I also read The Adventures Of Super Diaper Baby, which also made it on the Banned Book List... why all the hatred towards Dav Pilkey? How was Super Diaper Baby?
I re-read Speak in honor of Banned Books Week as well as to support Laurie Halse Anderson after the whole post by Scroggins. Points for September: 2

How was Nation? I'm planning on reading it later (this month, I think.)
========
On a totally different note - are we even remotely surprised by Scroggins? It's obvious he has an agenda, his "outrage" about Speak was simply furthering it, not actually aimed at the book, I think.
Nation was... interesting. Worth reading, definitely. Makes you think. Overall fun and adventurous, but sometimes very deep.

I just finished it yesterday. I was on vacation last week, so I got some catch-up time. I really enjoyed it! I have the sequel as well and hope to start it soon. :)
Also, I used the Isle of swords bookmark you made me a few rounds ago...
