Jason (darkfiction) | 3204 comments I'm not really into paranormal romance, but a lot of people are. Feel free to create a thread of your favorite author and/or series here.

Jen A series that I strongly recommend is the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs.

Jason (darkfiction) | 3204 comments I'll create a thread, since you're too shy! LOL

I know Jen IRL. She's my wife.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) I have to say I love PNR. It actually got me back into fantasy.

Here are some authors I recommend.

J.R. Ward
Kresley Cole
Christine Feehan
Gena Showalter
Nalini Singh
Larissa Ione

I love Patricia Briggs too! I tend to think of Patricia Briggs as more of urban fantasy, but her Alpha and Omega series could be considered paranormal romance.

Amanda reminded me I forgot another fave:

Sherrilyn Kenyon

Aww you guys are like Todd and I in that he's always doing that for me when I get shy too :)

Amanda M. Lyons (amandamlyons) My sister is a fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon and is always trying to get me to check her out. Anyone else have an opinion of her?

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) I am a fan of hers. She does a great job with the Greek mythology. Her heroes are very tortured and flawed. And the humor is great. If you don't like a lot of sex, that might be an issue. I don't mind it. You could easily skip the sex and stil get a great story. I definitely recommend her.

message 8: by Gwenyth (new)

Gwenyth Love (everythinggwenny) I love JR Ward...her Dark Lover books are great.

I also like Charlaine Harris and her Sookie series...well I did...but the more I read of them the more annoyed I get with the series...but I find that happens often when authors draw things out (Laurell K Hamilton, etc).

Jason (darkfiction) | 3204 comments My wife feels the same about Harris's series. Or, at least, she did get frustrated with the last one she read.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) I totally kicked Anita Blake to the curb when she started acquiring her male harem (yeesh!)

message 11: by Gwenyth (new)

Gwenyth Love (everythinggwenny) To me it's like a train wreck...you really don't want to look...but then you can't help yourself and you find the newest book somehow ended up on your bookshelf anyhow...

Yep I still read them too. I gotta know if she ever gets better and what happens while everything runs toward the end.

I quit reading Anita Blake when she got into graphic descriptions of a werewolf raping and killing a woman. That was just too sick for me.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) Which book was that, RedPaint? The last book I've read was The Killing Dance. I don't intend to read past Obsidian Butterfly. I hear Edward has a large role in that one, and I love Edward!

Obsidian is very much about Edward, you'll love it. Though I wish we knew more about his past.

Jason (darkfiction) | 3204 comments That's a good thing, Bobbie! :) Don't be afriad to create your own threads and/or folders if you don't see something that you'd like to discuss, as well.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) Bobbie, I know what you mean.

message 21: by Bobbie (new)

Bobbie I've been taking a short break from PNR for a little while. I was going through at least 2 books a week and they all seamed to be the same to me. Now I'm lucky if I can get through 1 in a month. So I took a break and mixed it up a bit. I read Hell House (it was ok) now I'm reading 33 A.D. which I like it but I'm ready for a PNR again Sin Undone is my next book. I like other genre's but I need more excitement you know 1 that keeps you up all night and gives you pleasant dreams LOL :) I think Horror will be my winter reads and UF & PNR my spring summer & fall reads. I need some UF recommendations. I like the mystery & cliffhanger aspect of UF (If the series is complete)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) I absolutely love PNR romance. I got hooked on it almost ten years ago, and I'm still hooked. But, I like to mix things up. I dont' want to get burned out on anything.
