Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9 comments I'm a fan of the Fever series, and I'm currently listening to the fourth book, Dreamfever.

I've noticed that there are plenty of invented acronyms that Mac threw around, and since I listened to all books, instead of reading them, I would love to have a thread which we can refer to if we want to remember what they mean.

Can you Fever fans help me out?

(Phil Gigante as Barron's voice is a perfect choice. The readers for the fourth book are just marvelous. Joyce Bean for the first three books was decent as Mac, but I'm being blown away by the performance of the two narrators in Dreamfever. )

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9 comments Lady Vale wrote: "Does this mean that the narrators use LM instead of saying Lord master? And the others you mentioned?

I would get so confused. I wish I could help you but I read them all, I never had an audiobook."

Yes...the narrators would read the book exactly as it was written. So if it was an acronym, they will spell it out.

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9 comments Lady Vale wrote: "Oh, and don't you get lost?"

No...I don't get lost. I'm an audiobook addict. :)

I listened to all KMM's Highlander books, and Phil Gigante read them all, too. So I was so pleased that they got him to play the male characters for the Fever series.

If you haven't heard him do Barrons, I think you should. *grins*

Tsk tsk...Vale...you should know this stuff..LOL

For the life of me I can't recall the 2nd one, the one that Ryodan picks up...something like If You Can't Reach Me, but not sure.

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9 comments Lady Vale wrote: "Oh, the one at her cellphone, lol, the one Barrons saved.

Just talking about Barrons makes me wanna read it,lol."

Yes...there are three numbers saved...with matching three acronyms.

Thanks Marissa.

Do you have any other acronyms that comes to mind?

Can you check on IFP? Inter-dimension fairy pothole?

message 12: by Kia (new)

Kia (kiasomers) I know this isn't really an acronym, but it seemed like as good a place as any to ask this question. In the series Mac makes a few references to Barron's being a leftie... Does anybody have any idea what the meaning behind that is? I know what having big feet and hands supposedly means for a guy, but I've never heard the left handed/right handed comment and it's been really bugging the crap out of me. Any help putting my mind at ease would be a big help. Thanks girls!

message 13: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 18 comments I think she made that comment while they were driving in the car and Barrons made some kind of threat that would involve him grabbing her, and, as a leftie myself, it's sort of difficult to turn and grab quickly to haul something, while in the drivers seat.

(but this is only my assumption)

message 14: by Kia (new)

Kia (kiasomers) It's mentioned a few times in the book, but the part that sticks out the most in my mind is when they are on the private jet on the way to Wales and she confronts him about not being a sidhe seer and he asks her if she is unsure about him being able to see the fae or if he is male.. and then he tries to prove to her that he is male by starting to unbutton his pants and she stops him and says "oh, please Barrons. You're a leftie". His response to that was "Touche". She also brings it up a couple other times when thinking about times and conversations she had with her sister when they're life was normal. I don't know why it's driving me insane, but for some reason it is. Thanks for trying to clear it up for me Jessica.

message 15: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) By stating that Barrons is a 'leftie' she's saying that she can tell through his pants which way his you-know-what lies. Basically he hangs to the left.

We discussed what this meant in my other group and this is what my friend Regina said...

"Oh the significance is that if you can't tell which way a man is lying -- he isn't worth your time. But it is just something to show how close Mac and Alina were and something Mac can use to banter with Barrons about."

Basically saying what the joke is (I guess she's said it before too), and saying that it wasn't significant other then to enhance Mac's two relationships, one with Alina and one with Barrons.

message 16: by Kia (new)

Kia (kiasomers) Oh okay.. That makes sense. Thank you Wendy for putting my mind to rest. I don't like being lost when I'm reading, even over something as small as that.

message 17: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) No problem. It would be interesting to find out directly from Moning what she meant. But I do think that the conclusion we came to in the other group was pretty close.

message 18: by Denise Nanna (new)

Denise Nanna | 9 comments I have a feeling you are right about it being about how it sits in his pants.

message 19: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 18 comments But what is the significance of pointing out how it sits in his pants? It still stands up, points out and performs the same function it's meant to perfom no matter which side it hangs.

message 20: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) If you can't see it, meaning it's not big enough that a person can't see which way it hangs through pants then they're not worth your time... that's how I was explained it by someone else.

message 21: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 18 comments oh, ok. Thank you for explaining that.

message 22: by Lisa O. (new)

Lisa O. | 26 comments Maybe my minds in the gutter, but I always thought it was referring to which hand a guy used to...you know. ; ) We used to make fun of guys in highschool for having one forearm be bigger than the other one, because he used one more often if you know what I mean. I see this as something more easy to notice than how it sits in his pants. Not that I think either of these definitions change the story very much.

message 23: by Theresa (new)

Theresa (thesa) | 136 comments OMG it's a totally different experience listening to the books with Phil Gigante than reading the books. I read Shadowfever when it was released and now I am listening tot he audiobook and it's so much better this time around. You can really appreciate the passion between Mac and Barrons. Phil should be the narrator for all hot male characters!

message 24: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Ooooh, I'm totally going to have to get those on Audio. I bet that is good.

message 25: by Kia (new)

Kia (kiasomers) Huhh.. I've heard some clips of Phil Gigante as Barrons via youtube and I wasn't overly impressed. If anything, it turned me off from him, but now your making me want to give the audio books a shot. Maybe when listened to in the right context, I would actually enjoy it.

message 26: by Brandaeblaze (new)

Brandaeblaze | 1 comments Re-reading the Fever series, as I was waiting for "Iced", I came across some acronyms not previously mentioned. Of course within the first chapter of "Iced" KMM gave us a new one-"TP".
