Jenny (narcisse) I looked at your shelves. Not sure if they're up to date or not, but based on the books you've read and what you asked for, you could try some of these:

Paranormal:
Wicked Lovely (Wicked Lovely, #1) by Melissa Marr Ink Exchange (Wicked Lovely, #2) by Melissa Marr Fragile Eternity (Wicked Lovely, #3) by Melissa Marr Radiant Shadows (Wicked Lovely, #4) by Melissa Marr by Melissa Marr

Fantasy:
Graceling (The Seven Kingdoms Trilogy, #1) by Kristin Cashore Fire (The Seven Kingdoms Trilogy, #2) by Kristin Cashore by Kristin Cashore

Howl's Moving Castle (Castle, #1) by Diana Wynne Jones by Diana Wynne Jones

Standard 'love stories', minus the paranormal and fantasical:
The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson by Jandy Nelson

North of Beautiful by Justina Chen Headley by Justina Chen Headley

Also, if you haven't read these yet, you should:
The Hunger Games (Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins Catching Fire (Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins by Suzanne Collins

Have you read the Iron King by Julie Kawaga? If you haven't, it's a pretty good read.

Yes i loved that book n cant wait for the next one

message 12: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (narcisse) The Wicked Lovely series is alright. I liked the first one. The girl is being pursued by a fairy king but is actually in love with a human so that's a little different. I've only read the first two. The second one wasn't as interesting to me. I'll get to the other two eventually.

Graceling and Fire are better, and have romance. They're not really paranormal but the "gracelings" are kids born with a special ability. They both have strong female heroines which I like.

Hunger Games isn't really a romance, but there is a little love triangle thing going. The books do put a lot of emphasis on her relationships amidst all of the craziness going on, and the books are REALLY good. I don't think you'd be disappointed at all.

Thanks after your suggestions i went and read about Graceling i really like the storyline to it and i think im going to go pick those up soon and im going to go and get the first of the hunger games and try that series.... everyone has great reviews for it so im sure it will be good.

I think i will skip out on the wicked lovely series after reading the house of night i think ive had enough of the not so great series.

message 14: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (teresainohio) Beautiful Creatures male pov, strong female character, and first love

Wingsand Spellsfairies and love triangle between a fairy and human

Tantalizeand Eternal listed as series, I feel more stand alone, read my reviews on these : )

Evermore great start to orginial series, follow up most didnt like, I like them for what they are

Blue Bloodsetc, to me this is gossip girl meets vampires, I REALLY like them, most people don't

The Body Findernothing paranormal, except female character can sense dead bodies and the love is this book, is very in your face : )

Hush, Hushangels and teenage love

The Girl Who Chased the Moonnot a True romance story, I found this story cute and adorable for what it is

and Hate ListI just recommend this to all to read, there is a very short boyfriend/girlfriend relationship BUT this book is so much more, it is a school shooting, but it is all about the aftermath,

Thanks ive read all of them except for the last two and was thinking about reading the hate list

message 16: by Haley (new)

Haley | 9 comments The Hate List was one of my all time favorites. I love the depth it got into. I really could connect to the main character. I definetly recommend that to anyone. :)

A really good romance that I fiinished a while ago was The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks , i was unsure about it, but it was actually really awesome.

Another is, Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick , i finished it within 12 hours. It was truely amazing :)

Seems we like alot of the same books : ) check out my shelves, I write reviews on all my reads for 2009 and 2010.

I don't think Hate list will disappoint, just not romantic.

message 18: by Kellee (new)

Kellee Moye (kelleemoye) Unconventional love story with a dystopian background: How I Live Now

message 19: by Wendes (new)

Wendes The Mortal Instruments have a great fantasy love story. The Darkest Powers isn't as centered around the love but it's pretty good.

And as already mentioned by others, Hush Hush, Beautiful Creatures and the Body Finder were AMAZING.

Chris (chrismd) | 5 comments If you're looking for something outside YA and a bit of a bodice ripper and heavy on the romance, Mary Jo Putney's The Guardians series is pretty good. I generally pass on most of this type of book, but I really enjoyed the first two, Kiss of Fate and Stolen Magic.

message 22: by Tabatha (new)

Tabatha i'm also a little lost on what to read next. Love YA but finding it hard with what to read next. Toooo many to pick from. Need help

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

If you want a light-hearted romance in the same realm of Sarah Dessen books than I would suggest you read Gimme a Call by by Mlynowski, Sarah.

Here is the description: After accidentally dropping her cell phone into a fountain at the mall, fourteen-year-old Devi Banks starts to get phone calls--and an earful of advice on how to live her life to avoid making disastrous choices--from her seventeen-year-old self.

So...if you were just heartbroken by a guy who you dated for four years and gave up your high school friends for...would you tell your younger-self to never go out with him to begin with? And if you do, what would happen?

Kay (kayyy) | 4 comments if you havent read it yet id suggest reading A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray.. its kind of intense and creepy at times, but it also has a really sweet love story.

Pam Sims | 1 comments You've got to read "The Light of Asteria". It really captures the essence of true love. Amazing!

message 31: by Tabatha (new)

Tabatha what's that about

message 32: by Caylin (new)

Caylin | 13 comments I just finished Perfect Chemistry i really liked it. If you love a good love story i think you might like this one!

message 33: by Jenny (last edited Jul 06, 2010 04:33PM) (new)

Jenny (narcisse) I just got an ARC of Infinite Days and read it. I think the YA market is a bit oversaturated with paranormal stuff these days (mainly because a lot of it is poorly written crap), but I liked this one. I think it comes out in about a month.

Infinite Days (Vampire Queen, #1) by Rebecca Maizel

I just got an ARC of this as well and am LOVING it so far. I like how she remembers her love for Rhode, and uses that to move on... again, I'm not very far in the book so I don't know where things go.

message 35: by Wendes (new)

Wendes For paranormal romance, you might also want to check out Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series. it's centered around greek mythology and the romance is pretty spontaneous and passionate
