I am waiting patiently (well not really) for this one from the library. I am first on the list and they have 5 copies, so it should come soon.
I liked it. I was nervous because of the cover, but it turned out to be entertaining. In the beginning I was worried because the author starts throwing around all these paranormal creatures and i felt like she was doing it just to throw stuff in there, but everyone ends up having a use by the end of the story. I'll definitely read book 2 when it's released.
The main character is essentially a cop figure, but her job is to solve magical crimes. She was once mortal, but was inducted into the furies, a group of paranormal beings who strive to protect both mortal and magical beings. She refuses to quit investigating the disappearance of her best friend, and a fellow fury, which causes those behind the disappearance to take drastic measures. Marrissa bands together with different species, and her ex, in an attempt to solve the case and prevent even bigger events from happening.

If I ever get the book I will post comments, but it looks like it might be next month at this rate. :(
I read this one over the weekend and I only gave it 2 stars. For some reason I had been really looking forward to this book and I didn't know much about it, I think that I fell in love with the look of the cover. After finishing it, I don't really know what to think of it. There were parts that I really like, Riss being one of them, but at other times when I was reading I felt like I had read so much of what was in this book already. In the end I am hoping that this book just suffers from 1st book syndrome.
Me too. I feel like the green eyes could've been done A LOT better. They look like a bad photoshop job.
I didn't like the cover but I did enjoyed it. It's nothing new though. It feels like a mix of every other book we've read though so I get it.
So I started this book yesterday and I'm not so sure on the whole Fury thing, I mean the book is good but so far it feels like there is something missing in it for me, I'm only 120 pages or so in so maybe that will get better. I'll post when I finish to let you know what I decide
I was in the same spot as you just because it was so different to me that it took me a while to just get over the fact that I wasn't use to it.
Heather, I finished this one! It was weird but I liked the ending and it seems as though there is going to be a second one and I will probably read that at some point also! Probably give it 3.5 stars
I'm thinking it has potential. If book 2 gets better we'll be good. I think part of the prob was that there were just so many species that you have a lot thrown at you.
