@ Meme I loved Bitten. I thought it was a great book. I have skipped around in this series. I have only read the books about the wolves. I do plan to read the others sometime in the future.
I just finished Magic Bleeds and I am going through Kate Daniels withdrawals! That book was fantastic! Now I am at lost for what to read next. How can I top such a great book!

now reading

I absolutly love LKH!! Guilty Pleasures is definatly apart of my top 5 favs!!
Lynsay sand is another fav of mine, with her canadian vampire family. So much fun in every story.
Just got A Curious Affair
I won this in one of those "Put your name in a hat" kind of things the author was doing for promo. It's labeled Paranormal Romance on the spine and actually looks pretty good. The lady got hit my lightning and can now understand what cats are saying (I have cats. They don't say much to me, but I sure wish they'd answer my questions now and then!!!)
We'll see how it goes!
Sounds interesting Maria, let us know whether you like it. I just finished
. Starts out a little boring, but about 1/4 way in gets a lot better. Now I've got to grab a library book before I my time's up.

So I finished A Curious Affair
I mentioned earlier, I won the book. Well, before I started reading, I checked out the reviews on Amazon and I admit...lost a little of my interest. Terrible reviews. But I started reading anyway. The book isn't anywhere near as bad as the reviews imply; in fact it was quite good. The problem is the book is mis-categorized. It isn't paranormal romance it's Gothic--and more towards noir or *almost* horror than paranormal romance. Think Barbara Michaels style; modern setting but all kinds of Wuthering Heights type atmosphere. The romance is definitely happier than Wuthering; that part is there, but the whole book has a dark feeling to it. The heroine is getting over the loss of her husband--well, she's trying to and not doing a good job of it. She's all wounds and rough edges with occasional glimmers of hope. The book, like Barbara Michaels' is a mystery and that keeps the book moving. Some of the descriptions and atmosphere were more like dark fantasy--for me, some of the long descriptions were simply too long. I only need about one sentence, maybe a paragraph to have a feel for setting, so I skipped over spots that were done for the buildup as the heroine was about to discover...things. (Some spots she'd go into remembering something, or thinking of something or noticing some weird thing out of place and it simply went on too long.)
There's definitely a paranormal element to the book because the heroine can talk to cats. There's humor there as well, some of it quite good, usually to do with the cats, but I happen to HAVE cats and like them, so that struck a cord. There were probably some spots that stretched my belief when it came to the cats, but cats can be like that.
Overall it was a good read. Some choppiness in delivery has me rating it between 3 and 4 stars, but that is because I'm not a big fan of Gothic. I'd recommend it to Barbara Michaels' fans or maybe even Cherie Priest (Four and Twenty Blackbirds). It has that surreal, very atmospheric quality, but with lighter moments.
Wow thanks for posting your review here. It really helped. I thought the talking to cats thing would be a interesting story. I just may look for this next time I am looking for new books.
I finished Lover Avenged late last night. I think this is the best Black Dagger Brotherhood book in my opinion.
I just finished reading Imprinted Souls by Danielle Lanzarotta and now I'm reading Burned from the House of night series and next will be The short life of Bree Tanner by Stephanie Myers then onto the Host. Any one read any of these?
finished
