I love this series as well! I cant wait for the final book out this year! The last book made me cry so bad near the end!
But I agree, it is more fantasy romance. Its a beautiful world with fascinating characters!
Gaelen is my favorite, but I love just about everyone! Steli too!
I'm on pins and needles waiting until October for the final book.Did you see on her website that she's planning another series called The Winter King? I'm looking forward to hearing more about that.
At one point she had talked about doing spin off books about Galen, Bel, etc but I wonder if that's still in the works given the new publisher.
Yes! I'm on her yahoo group and she sent out a pretty sizable excerpt from The Winter King! I would share but she specifically stated not to forward or share outside of the group. Maybe you can sign up and read it in the archives? There is also an excerpt from Crown of Crystal Flame, again not to be forwarded.I would love to see a spin off with Gaelen and Bel! Or even Kerien & Kiel with the sisters! So long as this batch of 4 aren't already gone! *bites nails to the quick*
Here is the link to the group if anyone is interested in signing up! I hope its OK to post here. If not let me know and Ill remove it!CLWilson Yahoo Group
Hmmm, I guess I'd say the romantic relationship that develops between Rain and Elly is primary however there's a lot of other storylines going on beyond that. Good vs. evil kind of stuff. That being said, it's a strong enough storyline I think even my husband would like it. He tends to like straight fantasy, but I think he'd enjoy this for the great world building, character development and storyline beyond just the romance.
Me! I have Queen in the TBR. I don't think they're really PNR. There's a lot of other stuff going and the romance isn't really the main focus.
I just finished this series last month and absolutely love it. The last book had my crying. Can't wait until the next book.
I've only read the first two as of yet but Friday is PAYDAY! and I plan on getting the last two. I can't wait to see how Elly and Rain's relationship develops further, and I'm anxious to see how she saves the Tairen Race
I got some of mine through the library and some through a used book store. Eventually though I'd like to have all of the books myself.
I own the first four books, and have read them three times already. I know October isn't that far away, but when waiting for a great serie like this, it seems like a long time to wait!
I'm itching to read the last book also! but to pass the time I've started rereading Eragon series. Here's hoping Sept. Flys!
Great series, and I'm excited that Bel and Galen will eventually get their spin off books. The love story made this series for me. I love that Wilson took a fantasy world, added PNR elements, and still made the love story a priority. One of my all time favorite reads!
I think this is one of the most beautifully written series out there. I can't wait for the final book. I need to know what happens!!!
I had made the mistake of starting Lady of Light and Shadows first. I did not like it and never finished. I am so glad I gave the series another chance by properly starting with Lord of The Fading Lands. Wow! This is such a well written fantasy. It reminds me of my childhood Grimms fairytale novels, which I loved so much.
I just reread this series in prep for Crown of the Crystal Flame's release at the end of this month.. I love this series. I usually go for vamp or werewolf books but this was a good change and had me sucked in from the first chapter!
Crown of Crystal Flame was one of the best endings to a series that I've ever read. Usually, I find myself extremely disappointed with how series are wrapped up.
Hmmm...not sure. Hadn't really given it much thought.I hope she doesn't take years upon years to write Gaelen and Bel's books, and I really hope that Kieran, Kiel and the twins show up in cameos. I'm satisfied with Ellie and Rain and if they don't come back I'll be okay with that, but I really want to know what happens to everyone else.
I am reading it now (Lord of the Fading Lands)1/2 done and I love it. The back cover does not do justice to this book. I almost did not read it because of the back cover. It is PNR and fantasy
The cover of book 1 is so cheesy, and it almost made me not try the series. I'm so glad that enough people said how great it was and I took the plunge.
I have to agree about the covers. The latest cover from the new publisher is the worst of the bunch. I hope a better artist is assigned to do the spin off books.

Shannon wrote: "Wow, that is seriously cool. I wish the US covers were done like the German covers."Ditto!

That is gorgeous!!
That's amazing! They should change the US covers to something like that especially since I also nearly didn't read the series becuase the cover didn't appeal to me.

Is anyone else reading this series? It's shelved under PNR but it seems more fantasy romance to me. I think it's really fantastic! Featuring a highly original fantasy world, this series is full of action, suspense, adventure and romance. The romance is so sweet and well developed. Couldn't put it down! I love the main characters and supporting cast, which include the Fey, mages and more.
