It's really hard to read a book that doesn't have a single likeable character. In this book Ever really is her own worse enemy. Everything she does...wrong. And while she's making these stupid mistakes she's blithely skipping ahead going "la la la this is wrong and stupid, but hey, let's see how its all going to pan out anyway!" Maybe this would be somewhat acceptable if there were an end in sight for her never ending stupidity. The end comes when the book ends.Haven. Oh Haven. You suck. And I'm sure you'll make a sucky villain. I spent the entire of the novel hoping someone would sucker punch her in her special chakra and send her a-bye-bye.
I was excited for this book to come out but, really, it might as was well have not. There seems to have been absolutely no progression in the story line. Exchange one mustache-twirling evil villain for another and we are right back where we started from just missing several of our hours that we'll never get back. And I'm sorry. Was there an attempt to redeem our resident bad guy? "He did it all for luuuurve... and a bad childhood." Dude. Invest in a therapist.
And, I hope the line between Haven and Ever when Haven recounts a conversation between her and Damon regarding the amount of immortals out there "thats for me to know and you to find out" isn't some sort hint at storylines to come.

A good/great series...sure. But even a good/great series is allowed a misstep or two. And for me...dark flame was a misstep. Maybe I'll be less harsh after I read it again. Hopefully I'll be less harsh after I read it again. And mocking! Well...whats a little mocking between friends? And I'm sure me and the book are friends...
IM IN THE MIDDLE OF READING DARK FLAME NOW. AT FIRST I WAS REALLY LET DOWN. IT DIDNT REALLY KEEP ME WANTING TO TURN TO PAGE, OTHER THAN TO SIMPLY GET THROUGH IT. BUT THEN OUT OF NOWHERE IT REALLY DREW ME IN. AND HONESTLY, I REALLY LIKE IT. I WAS A LITTLE LET DOWN BY SHADOWLAND AND WORRIED THE SERIES WAS GOING TO SUCK AFTER THAT. BUT I AM HAPPY SO FAR WITH THE WAY DARK FLAME IS GOING. WHILE I AM 100% TEAM DAMEN I HAVE REALLY STARTED TO LIKE JUDE. I OF COURSE DONT WANT HIM AND EVER TOGETHER BUT I LIKE HIM. I AGREE, HAVEN NEEDS HIT...HARD! I CANT WAIT TO READ THE REST OF THE BOOK.... HOPING IT ISNT AS BAD AS YOU GUYS HAVE MADE IT OUT TO BE. LOL. BTW- IM NEW TO THE GROUP, MY NAME IS STACY!
Oh no! Stacy I hope that you like the book! Really, really like it! Other than the fact that *someone* needs to! Don't let other peoples opinion biase you towards the book. I'm hoping that I'll like it more after a re-read. I read the book in about an hour and a half so I'm putting some distance between me and that first negative impression. I have about 60 YA books waiting to be read and after I soldier through all of those I'm going to re-read Dark Flame and hopefully come in here and be all, guys, I don't know what I was thinking but Dark Flame was fudgin' awesome! Or something. I'm just not there yet.
LOL... YEAH IM ALMOST DONE WITH IT NOW. BUT I REALLY REALLY LIKE IT. I THINK IT MIGHT BE MY FAVORITE SO FAR IN THE SERIES. BUT I GUESS WE WILL SEE. I CANT BELIEVE THAT EVERYONE HAS BASHED IT. I HAVE BARELY SPOKE WITH ANYONE WHO ACTUALLY LIKED IT. OH WELL. I LOVE IT! LOL
I didn't know that was the prevalent opinion! I hope it doesn't effect her writing the rest of the series.

I finished it today. Honestly, I think it's my favorite in the series! Loved it!
DONT MOCK IT TYA!!! and i am tired of it. Ive seen a hand full plus more reviews that say people LOVE the series. Then i see another hand full that say people absolutely hate it, and that it is a twilight rip off... But no! i try very hard not to listen and to remember i love it and millions of other out there do too. its just hard not to care
if people hate it so much they shouldnt waste there time. same with twilight I LOVE THE SEREIS and before it was a movie no one cared but as soon as it hit the big screen people just have to critisize even through they havent read the book....dont judge it by the movie! read the book and then you have the right to make any comment you want
I BOUGHT EVERMORE AT THE STORE ON IMPALSE BECAUSE THE COVER WAS AWESOME. THEN I READ THE REVIEWS ON IT AND IT WAS HORRIBLE. I WAS LIKE OK SO THIS BOOK IS GONNA SUCK. BUT I LOVE IT. I THINK IT'S A REALLY GOOD SERIES.
i love dark flame it is my favourite in the series :)i picked up evermore coz the cover was so pretty and it sounded really good.

oohh i love to read, shop (mainly for books lmfao) and watch movies especially movie interpretations of books even if i do complain that some r crap and they ruined the books (PS I Love You)

its a book series by richelle mead about 2 different types of vampires one good one bad and the good ones have to be protected from the bad ones by guardians and at the beginning of the series they r in a school for vamps and guardians.
