Elizabeth☮ Do you have rules for yourself when you go to a bookstore? Do you limit yourself to a specific number? Are you bound by a dollar amount?

I only buy books I've heard of and wanted to read, otherwise I try to find the book at the library or a used bookstore.

Angela B Those are pretty good rules but I'm glad they aren't mine because I would have brokwn them both last time I went to the bookstore! :)

I don't have any rules for every visit some times I will tell myself I'm only getting one but as long as I can still pay the bills and feed the tummy, I buy what I want and don't worry about it too much :)

I got a nook now though so I'm trying not to buy as much at the store, had my nook for a month and haven't read anything on it because of all the phyiscal books at home

Heather (nickyblue7) i go to a half price bookstore and if my moms with me i head straight towards the clearance section (which is full of good books that r only a dollar) and get about 10-20 but i dont buy that anymore since i am out of space in my room

Tiffany (cozyreaderscorner) | 17 comments I always look for deals. Clearance, Bargian Bin (BN) etc. I can usually end up getting 8-10 books or more and only spend 25 dollars. I rarely pay full price for a book. I will wait until it comes out in paperback etc...

Jencey/ (jencey) I keep it to one book a month. I am not afraid to try new authors. Right now I either use a coupon, sales, and look in the bargain section. Also a note if you go to an author signing Barnes and Noble marks some of the authors older work is marked down. I have been trying to add the library in there for new authors.

Karli (goodreadscomkarli_is_booked) When I'm at a bookstore I usually limit myself to the discount racks, unless I specifically went there for a title. I could spend SOOOO much so easily, that I do have give myself some boundaries before I shoot the grocery budget.

Angela B I order two Sarah Dessen books

message 11: by Jencey/ (new)

Jencey/ (jencey) I look for what interests me the most. I don't really have many rules except that it can be bargain, mass, or coupon. Also if you are interested in buying books and would like togo through me I am an online associate for amazon. Here is my blog http://www.jgortney.blogspot.com

Tiffany (cozyreaderscorner) | 17 comments http://acozyreaderscorner.blogspot.com is my blog. I have a review for Fly Away Home. ( : I was considering the whole amazon associate thing.. but don't you have to have followers? Mine is still new....

message 13: by Jencey/ (new)

Jencey/ (jencey) Tiffany I don't have that many followers either, but it came down to needing money and hopefully providing a service that can help others.

Sarah (Mood Reader) (bookworm1887) Okay, this will sound ridiculous to some but this is what I do or at least TRY to! I take my phone with me and books that look interesting I snap pictures of. That way it saves me the cost of buying the book! The only books that I have really been buying lately are wedding books since my wedding is coming up!!! Yet I still have a little over a year!

message 15: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany (cozyreaderscorner) | 17 comments What kind of wedding books are you buying?

Sarah (Mood Reader) (bookworm1887) Well, anything really... I want to do my wedding with friends and family so it's basically DIY. So yesterday, I bought a book about how to put your wedding to music.

message 17: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany (cozyreaderscorner) | 17 comments I'll search my books and see what I have thats wedding related, then I could post them if your interested.

message 18: by Angela (new)

Angela B I do the same thing Sarah so hopefully it isn't too ridiculous.

Sarah (Mood Reader) (bookworm1887) Yes Tiffany, please do!!!

Angela ... I have given up on what people think so if you and I don't think it's too ridiculous than chances are it isn't! Actually I remember my old boss telling me it was a good idea and telling me she planned to do it.

Also... word to the wise... try not to waste all that time and space taking pictures and then forgetting their in your phone (I've done it way too many times!!)

Sarah (Mood Reader) (bookworm1887) Tiffany... I looked at your first page and found a book I can't wait to get my hands on... Look before you leap :)

Kristopher | 11 comments I try to limit myself, but it's so hard! There are always several books on my "must have" list when I go into a bookstore. Sigh....I hope my kids are smart, b/c paying for college will be a challenge!

I have a Nook now. So, I've only been buying ebooks lately. But their are so many free books and I haven't needed to dish out much money. :)

But I do have 6 bookshelves of real books that are overfollowung. So... You can guess that I have no real rules when it comes to book buying.

Sometimes I have a book I must have. Sometimes I check baragi. Bins to find new to me books. Sometimes I grab a book that has been on my TBR list or just a book that looks good.

I'm really up in the air with buying books. You never know what I will find!!
