I don't think I would recommend P.C. Cast's if you're looking to avoid sex. It's not in there in abundance, but it's there.The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins is a good one:

I'd second Melissa Marr's starting with Wicked Lovely.
For some oldies but goodies, check out Nancy Springer's series starting with The White Hart. More fantasy but very poetic and full of longing, perfect for YA.
