Vanessa (vanessamc) | 646 comments I'm listening to this one right now. This is the one where Peabody gets her a new vehicle and McNab tries to fix her computer. Great scene at the station where Eve also gets someone else to interact with the vending machine. If you like the machine problems Eve has, be sure not to miss this one.

Sara ♥ (saranicole) | 1038 comments Ooooh... is this the one with the psychic and the UBER-CREEPY bad guy? Great quote:

Eve: "My life used to be so simple."

Peabody: "Mmm."

Eve: "It did. Because it didn't have all of these people in it."

Peabody: "If you need to shove somebody out, you know, to simplify? Could you give Roarke the push? See, McNab and I have this understanding. If Roarke is clear, I get to take my shot at him. McNab gets one at you."

When Eve choked on the last swallow from the tube, Peabody gave her a helpful thump on the back.

Peabody: "Joking. Just sort of joking."

Eve: "You and McNab have a sick, sick relationship."

Peabody: "We do." Peabody beamed. "It makes us very happy."

Karon (agmommy) | 182 comments Boy Eve sure liked her new vehicle in this book. Peabody was just sure she'd get a kiss out of it..lol.

I loved how McNab asked Eve to leave her office while he worked on her computer. That was HARD for her to do! He's right, she is hard on them, and uses them a lot! I couldn't help but crack up when she asked why they design something to start failing at some point in time and he pointed out that it's to get you to buy a new one. Sometimes she just doesn't see the obvious despite how observant/intelligent she is!

This is the book I've been waiting for...

That is a tough scene. Peabody's reaction was so her and ideal for Eve to receive.

Karon (agmommy) | 182 comments This is also the book where Peabody comes clean with McNab:

I loved that scene and, yes, it was funny and good for Peabody for keeping the mystery.

Karon (agmommy) | 182 comments I just finished listening to this one tonight. OH MY. JD Robb never ceases to surprise me. WOW....didn't see that coming at all! I had all kinds of emotions when completing this one. Now it's on to Survivor....

This one is on my top 5 list. The moment when and after Peabody is attacked is gut wrenching. We get to see Eve's devotion to her in this story.

Sara ♥ (saranicole) | 1038 comments Hahahaha! I'm rereading (re-listening) to this one, and hahahah! This is the one where Mavis and Leonardo as Eve and Roarke to be back-up labor-and-delivery coaches! *snorts* HILARIOUS! (Chapter 9)

Sara ♥ (saranicole) | 1038 comments Christine! I wouldn't read any of these threads unless you've read the book. They're going to be full of spoilers!

Dawn | 3250 comments Just re-listened to Visions for the first time in a while, forgot how emotional the Peabody attack was.

Chelsealuv Krigbaum Yes remember Eve 's horror of labor.. Laughing out loud. I love those four.

Nina (msralways) | 53 comments This one was great. Not as angsty as Divided in Death, but still. Those final chapters were heartbreaking!

I cried my eyes out before Eve did. It was riveting going through that attack through Peabody's eyes and then McNab's. it was chilling.

FYI, you can post here without using the spoiler feature. This is an open discussion about the book.

Cast List (view spoiler)

There are no spoilers in the list. It's only set up this way because of its length and for easy reference.

Dawn | 3250 comments Probably one of my favorite quote..."No more room at the Dallas Inn?" Lmao

Belles | 156 comments I was tearing up at what happened to Peabody toward the end. So gut wrenching that this happened to her and no one could do anything but wait at the hospital. I love that she got a shot off on the bastard! Go Peabody!

Lots of good scenes with Peabody this book: Eve telling her about her past, coming clean with McNab about Charles (I love the way she handled this!), and watching her deal with people when Eve can't. I also loved the scene Sara posted above where Peabody tells Eve about her agreement with McNab that they're allowed to cheat with Roarke and Eve if the opportunity arises. LOL!!

Another hilarious scene was when Mavis wanted Eve to be her back up for the birth, Roarke silently laughing at Eve's new predicament, then Mavis springing that she wants Roarke there too! God, I love Mavis! She's a good contrast for Eve.

Nice twist at the end. I didn't see that coming with the psychic. I love when there's a good twist that I don't see coming.

That scene tears me up every time. The first time I read it, I was completely unprepared for what happened to Peabody. The bathroom scene with Eve and those sunglasses is also my favorite.

Belles | 156 comments Oh yes. Seeing Eve breakdown was another emotional hit. Mavis's crazy sunglasses were a nice little bit of humor in a tough, heavy scene.
