So, I just finished the Darkyn series...please tell me it doesn't just end like that. I mean with Luisa and John. I know she has the Kyndred series now, but do we ever find out what happens with the Darkyn vs. the Brethren or did she just stop. Anyone??

Lynn Viehl started a new series about the Kyndred, and Darkyn characters show up occasionally- not john yet, but I think that's coming soon! (that's just hope, not actual knowledge!) Basically, we have gotten some nice moments between characters established relationships from the Darkyn series, but I don't think she'll just leave us hanging for too long with john (unless she's really evil, or just really forgetful).
I was devastated when I learned she ended the series...but anything is possible, I hope she brings those Darkyn guys back! Can't get enough of them. I haven't read her Kyndred Series yet but have heard that some of the characters make appearances in those books.
I know how you feel, Nichele. I really wanted to see more of John and Louisa and Tremaine and I want to know what happens between the brethren and the kyndred. I think we may get a little bit of that in the kyndred series, I'm hoping.
I am hoping as well. it's one of the reasons I haven't started the Kyndred yet. I just bought Dreamviel so i can read Shadowlight and Dreamviel back to back, but I am still sad that the Darkyn has ended. It's like a double edge sword. You love it when an author knows when to just call it quits before the series deterioates but not when there are so many unanswered questions!

I did see this site www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/v/lynn-viehl/ when I googled her name. It had info on all of her serieses including the newest series The Lords of the Darkyn.
The Kyndred series answered a lot of questions I'd had about the Darkyn series and its characters. Maybe within this new series, The Lords of the Darkyn, we will finally get our answers to our questions....
What happens with John(The shadow prince) and Luisa?
What kind of Darkyn did John turn into(she stiffly curled her fingers through his. Unlike others, his flesh was still warm.)?
How could John heal her (Luisa) through a dream?
What has she seen with her foresight?
What will be the final end between the Darkyn, Kyndred and the Brethren?
What happenened to Marian Christopher's(Robin's Marian) body (her box had no body and was full of stones)?
What will Dr. Alexandra do with her knowledge of converting and unconverting humans to Darkyn?
Some Darkyn characters and their talents:
Michael Cyprien(rose scent) - removes memories
Alexandra Keller(cinnamon/cloves, lavender as Darkyn)- Hears thought of murderers
Phillipe (honeysuckle)- persuasion
Luisa Lopez - foresight
John Keller-
Richard Tremayne
Elizabeth Tremayne
Lucan(jasmine rose)
Samantha Brown - bloodreading
Thierry Durand
Raphael/Adam Suarez
Liliette
Seran
Angelica
Valentin Jaus(camellias)
Gabriel
Nicola(juniper)
Jema Shaw(ripe apples)invisibility
Jamys
Marcella
Korval
So, I have now read all of her novels (so far) in the Darkyn, Kyndred and Lords of Darkyn series. While I have to admit that there are still many questions that have been left unanswered, she has been able to keep her world of the Darkyn fresh and moving forward. In fact, I have found that I am not so worried about all those questions because when she is creating new characters she always finds a way to incorporate ones from the previous novels. I have really enjoyed the characters she has created and the way she writes about them makes me continue to enjoy them. She is one of the few authors that I have read that I haven't felt like...been there done that while reading her novel. I can't wait to see what she has in store for the Darkyn world.
