Book Quotes
My favorite quote is from Jodi Picoult's Change of Heart."You didn't get past something like that, you got through it -- and for that reason alone I knew more about her than she ever would have guessed."
I love this quote because I find it to be very true. I think that when something happens to family or a friend of yours, you never really get "past it." It is always in the back of your mind and you never let it go.
What is your favorite quote?
I have soo many favorite quotes. here are some"You take insult where none is intended, but if you will find insult where none is meant, then perhaps I should try harder to insult on purpose."
— Laurell K. Hamilton (The Harlequin)
"I talk to myself everyone once in a while. Give myself very good advice. Sometimes I even take it."
— Laurell K. Hamilton
"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."
— Dr. Seuss
"There comes a point when you just love someone. Not because they're good, or bad, or anything really. You just love them. It doesn't mean you'll be together forever. It doesn't mean you won't hurt each other. It just mean you love them. Sometimes in spite of who they are, and sometimes because of who they are. And you know that they love you, sometimes because of who you are, and sometimes in spite of it."
— Laurell K. Hamilton (Incubus Dreams)
"Your face is marked with lines of life, put there by love and laughter, suffering and tears. It's beautiful."
— Lynsay Sands
"If you can't be a good example, you'll just have to be a horrible warning."
-Gwen Goodnight"
— Jennifer Crusie (unofficially attributed to Catherine Aird) (Faking It)
"Life isn't finding shelter in the storm. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
-Zarek"
— Sherrilyn Kenyon (Acheron)
"It takes much bravery to stand up to our enemies but we need as much bravery to stand up to our friends." — J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone)
"It's not the face, but the expressions on it. It's not the voice, but what you say. It's not how you look in that body, but the thing you do with it. You are beautiful."— Stephenie Meyer (The Host) Ian to Wanderer.
"Tears may flow and friends may leave, but I know who I will never let go. You know who you are and how much you mean to me, so my love you will always see. In body, spirit, mind and heart, I know that we will never part. Trust in me and I'll trust in you, the good and the bad I will see you through."~Ishiguro, Kazuo

I loved Ian.
"You get a little moody sometimes but I think that's because you like to read. People that like to read are always a little fucked up." — Pat Conroy (The Prince of Tides)
Hmm, well, my Mom taught me these two:A good man is hard to find but a hard man is good to find..
Some men opress men, all men opress women..
Oh so is mine but it is a good quote..I wrote it on a bathroom stall wall once, you know I just couldn't pass up the moment..
Was looking at goodreads quotes from my authors and found this Kleypas one. I remember loving it in the book: "I no longer believed in the idea of soul mates, or love at first sight. But I was beginning to believe that a very few times in your life, if you were lucky, you might meet someone who was exactly right for you. Not because he was perfect, or because you were, but because your combined flaws were arranged in a way that allowed two separate beings to hinge together." in Blue-Eyed Devil by Lisa Kleypas
Some more quotes I loved from books I've read. I am horrible at remembering, but thank goodness goodreads lists them. The following I found on goodreads quotes,"Many times in life I've regretted the things I've said without thinking. But I've never regretted the things I said nearly as much as the words I left unspoken. "
— from Sugar Daddy by Lisa Kleypas
"There is nothing on earth more beautiful to me than your smile...no sound sweeter than your laughter...no pleasure greater than holding you in my arms. I realized today that I could never live without you, stubborn little hellion that you are. In this life and the next, you’re my only hope of happiness. Tell me, Lillian, dearest love...how can you have reached so far inside my heart?"
- from It Happened One Autumn by Lisa Kleypas
"You never knew the last time you were seeing someone. You didn't know when the last argument happened, or the last time you had sex, or the last time you looked into their eyes and thanked God they were in your life.
After they were gone?
That was all you thought about.
Day and night."
- from Lover Mine by J.R. Ward
"The next time you face a room full of strangers . . . you might tell yourself that some of them are just friends waiting to be found."
- from It Happened One Autumn by Lisa Kleypas
"I want you any way I can get you. Not because you’re beautiful or clever or kind or adorable, although devil knows you’re all those things. I want you because there’s no one else like you, and I don’t ever want to start a day without seeing you.” -Harry Rutledge"
-from Tempt Me at Twilight by Lisa Kleypas
"... somehow, even in the worst of times, the tiniest fragments of good survive. It was the grip in which one held those fragments that counted."
- from Finnikin of the Rock by Melina Marchetta
"Do you know what a balance wheel is?” She shook her head slightly. “There’s one in every clock or watch. It rotates back and forth without stopping. It’s what makes the ticking sound...what makes the hands move forward to mark the minutes. Without it, the watch wouldn’t work. You’re my balance wheel, Poppy.” -Harry Rutledge"
- from Tempt Me at Twilight by Lisa Kleypas
Here's another one. Again found in the Goodreads quotes:"Sometimes people are beautiful.
Not in looks.
Not in what they say.
Just in what they are."
— from I Am the Messenger by Markus Zusak
Here's one of my favourite quotes:"I carry thoughts of you like my own personal constellation. How far away you are, my dearest friend, but no farther than those fixed stars in my soul." (Beatrix writing to Christopher)
— from Love in the Afternoon by Lisa Kleypas
That's one of mine too. I just can't find them all. Could probably fill a book or two (okay probably more) with all the wonderful quotes that are out there.Heather, If you haven't read any of Lisa Kleypas' books you really should.
Lisarenee wrote: "That's one of mine too. I just can't find them all. Could probably fill a book with all the wonderful quotes that are out there.Heather if you haven't read any of Lisa Kleypas' books you really s..."
Heather - I wholeheartedly agree with Lisarenee about Lisa Kleypas.
I just love Leo!Leo paused, struggling for words, when they had always come easily to him. But these had to be the right words. They meant too much. "I know I'm a bad bargain. But I'm begging you to have me anyway. Because I want a chance to make you as happy as you make me. I want a build a life with you. He fought to steady his voice. "Please come to me, Cat, because there's no surviving you. You don't have to love me back. You don't have to be mine. Just let me be yours."(Leo, Lord Ramsay to Catherine Marks)
- from Married by Morning by Lisa Kleypas
I saw this one and liked it:"For most of history, Anonymous was a woman." by Virginia Woolf English novelist (1882 - 1941)
I love Julie Garwood :)"Your trying to take them away from me, and I can't let you do that.I'm not ready to let go."
"Exactly what am I taking away?"
"My family."
"Brenna..."
She wouldn't let him continue. "You are trying to take them away, aren't you? And if you succeed, what will I have left?"
"Me."
— Julie Garwood (The Wedding)
OMG, Lisarenee and Carol, both of you are sick twisted women! You know that right? Man, the minute I read the quotes, I knew I had to read Kleypas! I will read her now, thanks to you two! And I will start with It Happened One Autumn! I haven't read her before so your reputations are riding on the line now..OK, someone needs to start quotes books I know!! I loved The Secret, The Bride and The Gift, hint, hint..
Heather I know what you mean! Everywhere I go (on good reads) I keep hearing about this Lisa Kleypas. I decided to read one of the books too. I just started
. It's going to be the third historical Romance book that I've read so far.
Sashana if you keep reading the series the last one "love in the afternoon" is different from the others but so wonderful. Her Wallflower series is great too. She has some wonderful heros.
Heather, Authors please. Who wrote The Secret, The Bride, and The Gift? They sound familiar, but I am unsure. Would they be by Garwood?
Sorry Lisa! The Author is Julie Garwood and those 3 are my favorite by her! Talk about yummy MIK!!! Sigh...
I did read them then. I'm not sure if it was her or another author (thinking it was Garwood) that got me liking those Scottish Gents in romances.
Yeah, you would be! I also requested the 1st one in the series, so I just bet you are doing the Snoopy Happy Dance..

OK, well I have quote for you! So there! It is from Natural Born Charmer by SEP:"It wasn't every day a guy saw a headless beaver marching down the side of the road, not even in Dean Robillard's larger-than-life world."
