I'll be doing all three categories (12 books).Just to be on the safe side, I'm taking the 6-month duration.
I'll post the list as I read the books.

Danielle wrote: "I don't understand completely. We pick a category and read all the books in that category or read 1 book from each? Hope this makes since."You pick how many groups you'd like to do - 1, 2 or all 3. Then you have to read a book that matches all the categories in each group.
So for instance, let's say you pick People and According to you. Then you'll have to read a book with a cover that matches:
Lonely Chick
Lonesome Dude
Kissing/Doing It
Body Parts (Eyes, hands, feet, etc. - no faces)
Covers According to You

ye GODS but I'm totally OCD about reading. I'm in. I think I'll be doing all 3, and taking 6 months, since I'm not sure how well my other challenge reads will fit with this. And, since I'm ALSO thinking about the "biggie" challenge that Yz just posted, well, I'm actually starting to think I might be a tiny bit NUTS. :oP
I am going to give it ago, I am going to do all 3 catergories in 6 months. Will post my list once I have sorted through my book pile!

I'm going to play too. Sounds like fun and I'm always judging books by their cover even though I know better. I'm going to do all 3 categories in six months.
I figured that 6 months would be good enough because a lot of this categories would match other challenges. :)So far the one I'm having the most trouble is 'Structures'...there aren't that many books with streets and houses. :)
BTW...if you need any suggestions, feel free to check out:

I see the animals in both. I think if there is an animal on the cover no matter how big its good.
I'm in as well, I'll post my tentative list soon, I just don't know how I'm going to be able to wait till August 10th :p
Do we have to read the books we put on the list or can we sub? As soon as I put a book on a list it's like I no longer want to read it. I'll post what I'm going to do after I look to see if I have a Type only book cover. I don't think I have or know of any with just type on them.
I might try this, but I'm just going to track it on my own and see how i go...i'll post when if i finish it if I do (since I have a ton of challenges going on right now)!

SUBJECT TO CHANGE (mostly based on if I like
) since I have a few from that series listed here!
OK I have a question. How to you add a cover picture to a post after you've typed stuff? It keeps putting my covers at the bottom and I have to retype a bunch of stuff or play with copy/paste.

Right above the box you type your comment in is a green comment that says "ADD BOOK/AUTHOR" click on this, entire the book title and let it search. At the bottom of that little cartouche you will see a further offering that is ADD: LINK COVER and there are little circles for you to choose which one. The LINK is the one that just puts in the title of the book so that its clickable. The COVER selection is what shows the cover of the book. If your cover doesn't match the cover that they are showing, click on the itty bitty link "other covers" and that will show you a selection of different covers.
These will give you an idea. There are other editions of this book, but if none of the GR Librarians has a copy, then they are shown as
I selected this particular book because I KNEW that there were 8 different editions of the book. I am a bit of a fan of Andre Norton. Ok, that's kind of an understatement. (Shrugging) What can I say--just because I have one wall that's floor to ceiling bookcases and filled with her books. I also have multiple copies of many of her books, and I keep meaning to check to make sure that I don't have any covers that aren't shown here. :o)
I love cover challenges!! I'm in! Will post my list after I think on it. I will probably do all categories for 6 months.
FlibBityFLooB wrote: "Do we have to wait until August 10th to start, or did you mean July 10th? :)"I think August '10 means August 2010 so I would guess August 1st is the start date. Midnight in your time zone I am guessing? :)
As for the end date that would be July 31st, 2011 at 11:59. You can correct me if I am wrong. :)
Well I figured it out and just copy/pasted. I had to redo it a couple of times to get it to not take up a whole screen and be easy to read. Looks good now.
so do we just update our lists as we read? I'm assuming that since this is just for fun we can change a book if we come to a DNF or just get in the mood for something different right?
Awesomevegan wrote: "As for the end date that would be July 31st, 2011 at 11:59. You can correct me if I am wrong. :)"I think the end date is January 31st, 2011. Remember, the maximum duration of this challenge is 6 months. :)
I've turned into such a challenge addict! I'll go for all three in six months, and I'll post as I go.
Ok, here's my list! Duration: August 1st 2010 thru Jan 31st 2011

Ok. I am looking into doing this challenge... one bit of hesitation, can I post something that I have read before that fits the category? I mean, I am committing to rereading that book so does that count? If yes, then I am in! 12 books 6 months(hoping less, lol)
Having done challenges with DG hosting before-I'm going to say that rereads don't count. But then those other challenges were on PBS where we played for credits. So she may not be as strict for a just for fun challenge.
We can start earlier if you guys want...what about July 15th? So anybody that starts on the 15th and chooses 6 months, will have until January 14th, 2010 to finish.Yes, you can change your lists, Mary...that's part of the fun for me!
I almost never re-read Alona but we can always do one re-read (no more than that though...it's good to work on the TBR!)
