Heart
I love Heart, especially the 70's stuff. "Dog and Butterfly" is one of my favorite of their songs.I saw them a few years ago. Well, a lot of years ago. (1985 or 86). But they rocked the house down.
I got Desire Walks On at a CD store for 3 bucks. Best deal ever made. That is a very under-estimated album.
Guitar Chick-Dolly Dagger wrote: "Ann, Nancy, Roger Fisher, Howard Leese, Mr. Drosier helped me get out of my Hannah Montana phase.Dog And Butterfly is one of my favorite albums of all time. Not to mention I"m going to see them in..."
I downloaded their new song, "Sand" as a freebie from amazon. Awesome....How was the show, Guitar Chick?
I was lucky enough to see the original lineup oh so many years ago. They definitely deserve the nickname Little Led Zeppelin
oh yeah!Setlist
Cook with Fire- This wasn't one of their bigger hits, but it was one of the best songs of the show.
What About Love- A lot of the synth was taken out, which is an improvement to me. Loved it.
Straight On- Good as always.
Dog and Butterfly- Had a plucky string arrangement as well as the twelve and six string guitar parts.
These Dreams- Done acoustic with very little synth and an excellent vocal from Nancy.
Hey You- THIS IS NOT A PINK FLOYD SONG! It's a new song off Red Velvet Car. Nancy sings lead and plays auto harp as well. One of the best songs of the show.
Even It Up/Gimme Shelter- Ann and Nancy blended the Rolling Stones into one of their most agressive songs. Afer playing the intro to give me shelter (you know all "Ooo's"?) They played the verses of Even it Up an then the chorus (RAAAAAAAAPE MURDERE, IT"S JUST A SHOT AWAY, JUST A SHOT AWAY) and the chorus of Even it Up to finish off the song.
Red Velvet Car- The title song of the new album. Sounds like Dog and Butterfly era Heart. Very cool graphics as well in sync to the song.
In the Cool- The BEST song of the show. Hendrix-y guitar riffs, great lyrics and vocal preformance= made my night.
Alone- Do I really have to tell you how amazing it was. Ann gave the signal to boost her sound when they got to the second chorus. Again, more acoustic.
WTF- Another new song off the album. Angry and agressive, recalling that of Barracuda.
Magic Man- Better than the classic of Dreamboat Annie.
Crazy On You- Slowed down a bit, but picked up speed. The band pured everything into it.
Barracuda- I didn't see a lot because of some of the lights making me dizzy, but it sounded wonderful.
Encores:
What is and What Should Never Be - Heart was originally a Zeppelin cover group so this brought them back to their tasty roots.
Love Reign O'er Me- An epic Who cover.
Wow. That sounds like an awesome show. From the looks of things, that new Red Velvet Car album might be worth getting. I already downloaded the song "Sand" and like it a lot.
Those are some great cover tracks too. I wanna go see Heart again.
Hey Guitar Chick-Dolly Dagger I can't remember if you like country or not. Seems to me somewhere on here country wasn't the favorite of some. But anywho! Did you know that Gretchen Wilson is their niece? The ladies of Heart. I love her, she is awesome. Going to have to give her a site.

Both of them or just the second one. I love her. Don't tell what song it is till Guitar Chick-Dolly Dagger gets to see it. Please and Thank you. :) They both were awesome but the second one, man she tore it up. Have you ever heard anyone do that song any better? Not even the original group sounded like that.
I meant the second one. I was actually waiting to comment more until Guitar Chick saw it.....I hate spoilers..hehe
Me too, but i didn't think till your post to put a please do not tell. I think she'll like it.
The first one is good to. But like i said i love this chick.

I think I saw Gretchen and Nancy and Ann Wilson on CMA and I don't think they are related, they alluded to the fact that they just share last names, no relation.
Are you sure, because i read it on the net that they were. Damn! I guess they could say the sky is green on here as well, but it wouldn't be true. Someone find out for me please.
And where is Guitar Chick? Anyother time she would be here by now. Kids!

I am not aloud outside. I only have 4 walls and my computer. At least till my car gets out of the shop, then it's bye bye, i didn't like playing this game.
For one thing, Gretchen is from Pocahontas, Illinois, and Ann and Nancy are from Seattle, I think they grew up in Vancouver, from what I got from their album. Dreamboat Annie. The CMA was like the country star meets rock and roll stars and jam. Gretchen said that she used to sing all of Hearts songs growing up.
First link- Liked it before that idiot started rapping.Gretchen does barracuda extremely well. I saw the sisters Wilson and Fergie do it together and of course Ann was tops, but Gretchen can actually sing. SO there you go.
Thanks for the links!
She is married to Cameron Crowe who had something to do with the movie Almost Famous, possibly directed it?
one of them is married to Peter Frampton. the skinny one. Maybe she was married to Cameron Crowe before
Is she? Well in Hollywood you know how marriages don't usually last. I don't think Ann is married, but she does have children.
See, that's what I thought.I did look it up. Peter Frampton's wife is Tina Elfers. Their daughter is Mia Frampton, who's in that tv show Make it or Break It.
Interstingly, Peter was the technical advisor for Cameron Crowe's film Almost Famous.
well hellI stand corrected again. I'm just eating crow all over the place. Good thing I like feathers.
so where did I hear that he was married to a heart girl?
Cameron Crowe. lol. I just caught that. In that case I need to pick a different bird. How about a robin? lmao!

Their new album (Red Velvet Car) comes out August 31.
By the way, it should be noted that the line up of the seventies is different now. Ann and Nancy are the only original members left. Howard Leese left in 1993 or so, Roger Fisher got kicked out when Ann or Nancy's relationship ended with him.
