i absolutely LOVE the black dagger brotherhood series...by JR Ward. it's all about vampires and it is so great! i'm sure she'd love it :)
The Mortal Instruments trilogy is amazing. I've read the first two and can't wait to read the third!
Just read Sleepless which I thought was a pretty good read. I thought it had an interesting concept to it--the Sandman! It was refreshing for it to be something other than vampires or werewolves.
I'll be posting a review at some point but I'll say I'd give it 3 to 3.5 stars. A good read for people who like the paranormal romance genre!

Just finished this book
..I actually read it first thinking it was the first of the series. Than had to back track. But the four books in the feral series is real good. Right now I have nothing to read. All my books are series and not coming out until next yr. Any suggestions...
thanks for letting me know....Jamie wrote: "Just read Sleepless which I thought was a pretty good read. I thought it had an interesting concept to it--the Sandman! It was refreshing for it to be something other than vampires o..."

I am really enjoying Kelley Armstrong's Darkest Powers YA trilogy:The Summoning
The Awakening
The Reckoning
I've read the first two and they were amazing (and paranormal isn't usually my genre). The romance in the series isn't the main storyline (so it's not really a paranormal romance), but I love the love/hate relationship between Chloe and Derek and they've become one of my favorite couples.
I read Angel Star recently and I thought that was pretty decent. I'm really looking forward to the second book-- Lemniscate
What books have you all been reading?

I finished Nightshade last week and really enjoyed it. It's a YA book but I think it's for the older YA crowd.
Me too! The cover of Nightshade is gorgeous.I recently got into The Immortals series by Alyson Noel. I just finished the second book, Blue Moon, and I have Shadowland on hold at the library.
I've heard good things about The Immortal series! I think my sister has the first one. Might have to go raid her bookshelf.
I was thinking about this..what do you think it is about paranormal romance that has made it so popular lately? I feel like it just exploded since Twilight and I really think it's so interesting how in love with different vampires, werewolves and other worldly creatures people have fallen in love with!
Amanda--Richelle Mead is coming to my local indie bookstore soon! I've never read the series but I've heard good things. I've also heard great things about Wicked Lovely!
Twilight was my first taste of paranormal. I'm still really new to it. I used to turn my nose up to all of that stuff! It's so much fun!
What are some of your favorite non-vampire/werewolf books? I've read Angel Star and that's about guardian angels. Sleepless by Cyn Balog is about the Sandman! I've seen people read books about faeries and other creatures but I haven't really read any of those!

In Kelley Armstrong's trilogy The Darkest Powers, the main character, Chloe is a necromancer who can see ghosts and raise the dead. There are a bunch of secondary characters too (all teenagers) who all have different powers: a sorcerer, a telekinetic, and there is a werewolf but this series definitely isn't about werewolves. All three books are out now. In the middle of writing this post I realized that I had already advertised this series earlier in this thread (message 8). I listed the individual books there if you want to check them out. :)

I'm looking forward to it, but I don't think it's being published until April 2011 so it's going to be a long wait.
I haven't been able to read the last book yet. The waiting list at my library was so long. I'm finally at the top of list and I'm the next person to receive it, but the person who has it now is almost a week late turning it in! Eeerg!
If anyone is interested in paranormal romance, definitely check out Heather Graham. She is a brilliant PR author!

I actually didn't mind how the book ended, though I would have minded a lot less if Armstrong continued this series for another book or two. :)
I hope the rumors about The Gathering are true and that we'll get to revist these characters and see what they've been up to.
A series I like that has a little bit of paranormal, a lot of mystery, and some romance is the Lucy Valentine series. I actually won the first book through the first reads program and I'm glad I did because it's not a book I would have picked up otherwise. There's two books so far: Truly, Madly and Deeply, Desperately and the third one comes out in Feburary I think. Anyway, basic summary is that the main girl, Lucy Valentine, comes from a family that has the ability to see people's auras and therefore match them with compatiable partners. However, Lucy only has the power to find lost things. She uses this power to help solve mysteries and to help people find long lost lovers. And of course, there's a cute detective throw in, and her family's curse where even though they can match everyone else, they can never find a good match for themselves.
