I thought of posting this when I went to see Eclipse a second time. There's a song during the

that I really loved. It's by Sia and called My Love. I would never have normally even encountered the song since it's not what I listen to. I like that about soundtracks, the Twilight ones specifically, since they introduce me to music I might not have encountered in my day to day life that I end up loving. I've been a fan of Clair de Lune as well as Carter Burwell's since I was 10, but they brought him back for me. And outside of a Coen Brothers movie too... Howard Shore, The Black Keys, The Black Ghosts, and Blue Foundation all had songs on the various soundtracks I liked as well.

I get so tired of hearing the same songs over and over again that I switch stations every two or three weeks. I go between rap/hip hop, top 40, country, 80's and early 90's, and every now and then classical.
I've learned that on long trips when I'm tired, mariachi music works wonders. I was ready to pass out and hit a dead zone in the middle of the state of Washington. It was the only station that worked. I perked right up. I can't stand mariachi, but it worked.
I grew up in San Diego and every weekend my mother would take me to old town for brunch when I was younger. I went crazy because the band would come right up to the table and I didn't like having trumpets blown in my ears. And, they wouldn't go away when I asked them to, which is what bothered me the most. I'm diverse enough in my tastes that I probably wouldn't have cared if it hadn't been forced on me.

Has anyone ever heard of the band Paper Tongues?? They are great!! They have a really weird name but their music is awesome and they are amazing live!!!!
@ Lisa S - It is soft and slow, so very different.@ Sherri - Never heard of the band, but they do have a great name. What would you say they sound like?
What do they sound like...hhhmmm that's a good question. They have their own unique sound but I'd say they are kinda pop/rock/hip hop/everything combined. Here's a link to their myspace page and you can listen to some songs there... http://www.myspace.com/papertongues I love everyone of their songs in their own way so I can't even tell you which ones are the best. Ride to California is more of the hip hop if you don't like that. Trinity is awesome too!
It's Kid Rock ish mixed with a boy band and a hint of aerosmith. From the California song at least. There's something else it reminds me of, but I'm can't place it.
I have Hot-n-fun stuck in my head by N.E.R.D. I've been trying not to dance around all day, and now all night.
I really like Enrique Iglesias' new song featuring Pitbull. I Like It I've have always sort of been a hidden in the closet fan of Enrique Iglesias but now I just can't hide it anymore! :)
I have an idea for a game that's kinda fun that I play in another group...let me know if you want to do it here.First person writes a song title and artist and the next person writes weather they'd turn it up or turn it down and then they post a song and the next person posts if they'd turn it up or down and pick a song, etc.
Example:
1st Person...
I Like it by Enrique Iglesias
2nd Person...
Turn it up!
Airplanes by B.o.B ft. Hayley Williams
and so on...
Do you guys want me to create a spot for it or just do it here?
By the way, I'm kind of liking the theme from Fringe. Like I said before - from rap to classical. Odd taste in music.

I just finally watched the music video to California Gurls by Katy Perry. It was hilarious. I never thought Snoop would were a cupcake suit.
I'm mostly a country music fan these days, but I love the soundtracks for Twilight and Eclipse. The New Moon soundtrack was just SO depressing, but I did like Death Cab For Cutie's Meet Me On the Equinox. Also love the music that gets played on Vampire Diaries and I'm a closet Kid Rock fan. I love putting his stuff on in the car and turning it up LOUD!
There was a song on the newest Covert Affairs and I totally freaked because I loved it and was happy someone was playing it. Of course, I don't remember what it was anymore. I just remember it was toward the end.
Okay, I went and looked it up. Cosmic Love by Florence and the Machines. I would have had no clue who she was if it weren't for the eclipse soundtrack having one of her songs on there. I always listened to hip hop, top 40 and country, but the soundtracks have introduced me to Death Cab For Cutie's, Sia, and Florence... They all have some great songs and some that aren't to my tastes, but soundtracks are great for introducing you to things you never thought you'd like.
Have any of you ever heard Hurt covered by Johnny Cash? NIN sang it originally. I kind of forgot about, but it popped up on my itunes tonight. I do like Cash's rendition better, but it just means more to me sung from someone much older and who happened to be very close to dying at the time of having sung it. It never fails to move me.
I can't find the original video I had seen, but it had his wife in it and I remember it made me cry. Then I found it he had actually passed away and it got to me cry even more.
Does any one else have a song that's manged to get to them emotionally? That somehow just left a mark on you and you still feel the same every time you hear it?

I never cared much for Johnny Cash's music, since I grew up hearing it every day. But I did like Hurt. A song that has always gotten to me and can still make me cry when I hear it is Just My Imagination by the Temptations. I associate it with a particular person, I guess he'd be "the one who got away". After all these years and being married to someone else for over 35 years that song will still get to me whenever I hear it.
When I was in high school I would alway listen to Fast Car - Tracy Chapman. My dad is an alcoholic and while my life was a lot better in that situation than most kids, my mom had a decent job that paid very well, I still wanted to be anywhere but home. I needed to be anywhere but So. Cal. to get away and make my own life. When ever things got bad I'd just listen to the song. I had a wonderful teacher that played jazz and blues when he wasn't telling us dirty stories about historical events that introduced me to it.
I watched Saturday's SNL today and they actually mentioned Tracey Chapman and Fast Car. Interesting timing.
I cleared my play count a week ago, but so far it's Sia - My Love. I generally use winamp though. I have more options uploaded into it.
Pandora is pretty great. Especially since you can thumbs down stuff and never have to listen to it again. Plus, you can setup stations for different genres of music.
Are you asking if Pandora is musical or are you asking me to comment on something musical? I'm confused.Pandora is sort of like internet radio, except you can custom make your stations. You can create a station based on a band, song, or style of music. You can make several different stations so you can switch back and forth, and if a song pops up that you don't like, you can give it a thumbs down and it will never play again on that channel. This makes it nice because if you do enough thumbs up and thumbs down on songs, you'll end up with your own customized playlists.
I have stations for 90's music, club/dance music, alternative rock, old-school hip-hop, etc. Even instrumental type music. It's pretty fun to play around with.
I just love that I forced you to give me a Pandora lesson. ;)
My first station ended up being almost all circa 1994. I deleted and started over again because it made me feel pathetic.
