These covers always remind me so much of Kim Harrison's book covers that I feel like they are ripping her off a little bit so I was never really drawn to this series
A lot of UF books have similar covers. These ones remind me of Rachel Vincent's were series and lots of others.
Maybe the same aritist for the covers. But anywho I am reading Kitty and The Midnight Hour right now and it is pretty good although the thing she does when she is a wolf and switches points of views sucks. Sounds like something a Middle school student might do.
You should read these in order. While there is a story in each book that is complete, there is a larger story arc with Kitty and her coming into her own.

I hope Kitty Goes to War comes out in audio download. I am not buying another audio CD. I have all my Kitties on the audio format, so I want to continue to listen to them via a download.
I gave in and bought the download of Kitty Goes to War. I should have bought the paperback, it's cheaper. However I have listend to all the previous Kitty stories and I want to keep to the same media. I like the narrator's voice.
Paula the same narrator does the Rachael Morgan series by Kim Harrison. Since you like her if you haven't checked out that series you might want to.
I bought the audio CD of Kitty's Big Trouble. I forgot that I preordered the paperback. So I have both now. I really need to stop wasting money. I prefer audio downloads to the CD, but the download was more expensive.
I was torn with that book Paula. I didn't care for the mystery part of the book, but loved the others. Kitty's search for famous old time people who were werewolves and how Ben was. He finally won me over with this book.
I wasn't crazy about
either. All the Chinese mythology stuff just did nothing for me. As for the Rachel Morgan books, I read them all up to the most recent 1 or 2 and can't tell you why for the life of me. I never really liked any of them and the only characters who really interested me were Jenks & Ivy. If she'd do a series about Ivy I'd be interested.
Melodie...wouldn't you rather that Kitty had stayed in the Old West? When things started there I was happy.
I think we're all just building up our expectations with the series we've loved. After a year of waiting, a decent book seems crappy because we've been anticipating it for so long. I'm having that issue with a lot of series I read.
Sorry, posted too soon...
There's also the issue that the more the authors write, the more predictable they become, or they just start running out of ideas. It's hard to stay fresh after so many.

I hope that listening to the new Kitty book instead of reading it will be more enjoyable. I saw that the ratings for Kitty's Big Trouble were lower than usual. Actually, I hope that listening to 'Pale Demon' will be a better experience than reading 'Black Magic Sanction'. I like Jenks and Ivy, also. I thought that Ivy was merely a cameo appearance in 'Black Magic Sanction'. There was no depth in her character. Of course I didn't read the last 100 pages, so Ivy could have become a powerful force.
I'm having issues with a lot of series too. Maybe a series should just stop after 7 books or so books. Sometimes the authors, when they've been writing a series for awhile, just get too wordy and start to ramble. At least, in my mind they start to ramble.
So, I'm actually taking my team reading book 10. I've been doing 20 pages every few days. I'm trying to savor this one instead of plow through it.
I love that she's in London. I hope it's good.

I liked the London book, for me it was classic Kitty. She bops around, makes friends and finds trouble. There were some good parts with Cormac/Amelia too.
I listen to the Kitty series. I'm going to have to get the latest download. I always thought Cormac and Amelia had possibilities.
I know what you mean Paula. I wish that they could be 2 different people. I think that things would be more interesting.
I'll be honest, I forgot about her.
Also, I think I said this before, but I always thought Cormac would be more interesting than Ben.

I never was sold on Ben until they were in San Francisco. His actions in that book sold me on him and Kitty as a couple.
I kind of hopped she's meet a bigger badder wolf. Someone that hadn't come into play, but one that like Ben, lets her do her thing. He just happens to be a better fighter than Ben. I can imagine.
I'll be honest, if I was Vaughn, I'd kill Ben off. However, the mating for life thing gets you there.

Just started this one, but only managed to get about 14 pages in at work today. I've actually been socializing during breaks instead of ignoring everyone. It's orrible on my reading time. ;)
I know what you mean Heather, it happens to me too. I thought the new book was good, but I hated what Rick was doing.
I'm saving to just read on breaks. I can't use my kindle or cell phone @ work so I figure I'll stick with books that don't have halfnaked men on the cover for work.
Looks like I'll be holding off on Twice Tempted.
