Kay Mack (kaymack) | 4 comments I'll put in my 2 cents here...I'd love to re-read Rebecca by duMaurier (I think I read it 30+ years ago!) and I love Emily Griffin's books, so Something Borrowed and Something Blue both sound great.
Heather, I'm also a huge fan of classic mysteries such as Agatha Christie and Hercule Peirot...
I like more genres than not, so I'll just add I don't like science fiction, Harry Potter or Twilight-type literature.
How do I underline titles in comments? Thanks, fellow readers!

Sandi *~The Pirate Wench~* (thepiratewench) | 13 comments Hi Scrapperschallenge.."whew" long name...well no my fingers are slow..have you read Frenchman's Creek by Daphne du Maurier I read this one too I would love to re-read..have you read others by her? underline book titles? & author?
If thats what you mean..in the comment box look up..see the add book/author? click on that & it will let you type in the book & author to your comment box..hope that helps if thats what you mean.

Kay Mack (kaymack) | 4 comments Hi Sandi, First of all, I don't know how I got this user name - I'm going to change it! I belong to a yahoo group with this name, so it I must have somehow linked it to goodreads.
(I'm changing it to Kay, so you & everyone else will know I'm f/k/a Scrapperschallenge)
I haven't read Frenchman's Creek, but sounds good to me.
OK...I'm not usually so inept, but I've tried clicking on add book/author, and you see what I got. HELP!!! When I edit my user name, I'll read more about the site. Do you know if we're supposed to be reading a specific book right now? Thanks.........

The Frenchman's Creek sounds interesting!

message 13: by Jocelin (new)

Jocelin Have we discussed the next book we will be reading for the new year? I would like to make a suggestion for the novel Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly.

message 14: by Tasha, Moderator (new)

Hi Jocelin,

We haven't decided on a new book for the New Year.
Thank you for your suggestion. We will add it to the list for a vote. Will keep you posted!

I don't know what genre everyone is interested in reading. I lean more towards fiction, rather than non. I have been reading a lot of historical fiction lately, so thank you Jocelin for that last suggestion! Really enjoyed it! The sequel, I suppose, would always be an option. I usually read a whole series of books in one go, since I tend to fall in love with the characters.
I'm having a hard time picking just one to suggest. Anyone else have any ideas?

message 16: by Jocelin (new)

Jocelin You are so very welcome, Lindsay. I have read about 50% of the book and I am enjoying it as well.

message 17: by Jocelin (new)

Jocelin I am kind of stumped about the next read. I will have to think really hard on this one.

message 18: by Jocelin (new)

Jocelin I don't know if anyone has come up with a book for the month of April, but I do have a suggestion for May: Matched by Ally Condie Matched (Matched, #1) by Ally Condie

Lindsay (ltg584) | 478 comments Mod
I'm up for that one! It's been on my to-read list for a while.

message 20: by Heather (last edited Apr 10, 2011 10:28AM) (new)

Heather | 8 comments Matched looks interesting. It has a massive queue at my library, but I put my name on it just in case :) This romantic comedy is on my list for a light summer read: Textual Healing. Don't know much about it, but I like the idea of something fresh and funny and quirky for summer.

Yeah, the list at my library is a little absurd, as well. I've got my name in though.

We're approaching May... any suggestions for the read?

I can't wait to read The Help! I'm #161 on the library waiting list... I might be waiting a while.
I like the sounds of New York, and Confessions. But then again, I'm up for anything.

message 25: by Jocelin (new)

Jocelin Any suggestions yet?

Hi Tasha, sure I'd be happy to read it!

Andrea Taylor (hermia) I've read some of the suggestions for books to read and I have always wanted to read Barbara Erskine and that would be great. Frenchman's Creekis another book that is on my to read list. There are so many!

message 31: by M.L. (last edited Sep 05, 2011 10:44AM) (new)

M.L. Frenchman's Creek - sounds good to me!

Would also suggest Ruby Red - it's popular in Germany and just published in the US this year. 1st in a 3 book series. The translation is by Anthea Bell who translated Cornelia Funke's Inkheart series.

Thanks for suggesting Ruby Red Luana, we could add it to one of our polls for November. Heather will be doing Nov and Dec so we'll make sure she adds it to it.

We have already read Frenchman's Creek this year.

message 33: by Lindsey (new)

Lindsey Yeah I've been wanting to read Ruby Red too! Hopefully we will one month.

It does sound good, though if I like it, I wonder how long I would have to wait until they translate the next two.

I loved Rebecca, so I was thinking it might be great. I probably won't read it for a while then. I have too many piled up beside my bed already!
