My absolute favorites are Gossip Girl and Top Chef. Though GG is better than Top Chef in my opinion, seeing as how I can re-watch that show and not get bored. :)
Those are all that I can think of off the top of my head, but there are more. :)
I just got rid of my dish network, so I currently do not have any tv at my house other than dvd's. I shouldn't miss it as I hadn't turned it on for the last 3 months, and before that it was really hit or miss for me. I should have gotten rid of it a couple of years earlier. In fact when I packed up the recievers I had things on the DVR from December.I used to watch a lot of tv until the last writer's strike. I quit watching at that point and went to reading all the time. I don't miss the tv and if I want to watch a show I can get the DVD's from the library.
My must see shows are:Grey's Anatomy
Private Practice
Heroes
TrueBlood
So You Think You Can Dance
Survivor
I have to watch Supernatural when it comes on, I record it as well, but I have to see it when it first airs, lol. I like tv, so I have a lot of shows I watch. They are:- True Blood
- Gossip Girl
- Bones (because of Angel)
- Vampire Diaries
I also watch So you think you can dance, Pretty Little Liars, and The Gates, but I don't rush to watch them.
I usually have mini marathons of my fav shows on DVD like Buffy, Angel, Charmed, BSG, Roswell, Stargate... Right now (meaning the past week or two) I have been watching Buffy season 7. :P
I don't have cable or a dish. It cost too much and in my TV viewing area I get at least 11 stations, so it's network for me. I've heard of some of the shows discussed, but never seen them.Jay Leno got rid of one of my favored show, 'Life'.
I watch Wipeout, The Big Bang Theory, Glee, History Detectives, Secrets of the Dead, Dr Who, Heroes, Bones, Supernatural (scares me). I'm sure there will be more shows I like come the Fall season. I hope anyway.
Big Bang Theory
Bones

Chuck
Glee
How I Met Your Mother
Lie to Me
NCIS
Rizzoli & Isles (good so far at least)

My all time favorites are West Wing and M*A*S*H*.

Hannah, ever watch Legend of the Seeker? It was just cancelled, but it had an updated Xena type feel (both were filmed in New Zealand). I loved that show.If you have Netflix, seasons 1 & 2 are instant queue-able, so it doesn't mess with your DVD rotation.

I didn't realize it got cancelled. I didn't watch much past season 1, it was just not what I was expecting in respect to the books. I loved Hercules and Xena, but seeker just didn't do it for me.
It probably has to do with what you read/viewed first. From what I can tell, most of the people that read the books first prefer the books, and the majority of the people that saw the show first like the show better. Apparently, the two are nothing alike.I saw the show first, and recently tried very hard to read Wizard's First Rule. I failed miserably at it.
I was sorry that Legend of the Seeker was cancelled, but they had a very nice final episode. Hope abounded.
I watched the Teen Choice Awards today and I just have to say it's the worst awards show ever. The categories are so random, the show didn't flow, and you could tell the people receiving the awards didn't feel like they had won any GREAT honor. Best smile was a category. Although, Lautner does have the best smile... Anyway, the show felt like a video yearbook. They even had a hottie award. There were one or two funny moments, but I don't understand how people were paid to organize the show. It needed an OCD person in charge.
Yeah, they always have weird categories like that. I watched a few minutes because some of the Glee cast was hosting, but then I turned it off.
Gossip GirlOne Tree Hill
True Blood
Dexter
Bones
I don;t ever watch these shows on TV, I just wait til they come out on DVD and then I watch them non-stop. lol
I don't have cable either, but watching TV shows online didn't occur to me. I'd like to see if Memphis Blues is any good.
If you have Netflix, they have a decent offering of some of the cable type shows for instant streaming on either your computer or on Wii, PS3, Xbox or blu-ray with streaming. I ended up watching all of the Lost seasons up through 5, Legend of the Seeker 1&2, and Merlin season 1 on Netflix. It's lots of fun.Hulu is free and also has some of the basic cable offerings (ABC I think?) that can be watched on your computer.
I use 2 sites. One is sidereel.com and it is restricted to what shows they have but yidio.com has basically every show ever created. I love those sites and use them almost every day to catch up on my shows...and they are both free!
So, I never watched Smallville, but I came across Birds of Prey from the same creators. I've started watching past episodes. Apparently it only lasted a season, but I'm interested so far. I think the name of the show could have used some work to get more people to watch.

I never watched it. It's kind of surprising since I watched Smallville since the very first episode (I stopped watching last year though). Vampire Diaries comes back on Thursday! I think Gossip Girl is next Monday.
That sucks. It could also explain why I can't find stuff airing in England. You'd think if you could get the url anything would work, but I guess that a lot. Maybe it played in Canada? If I were willing to find things illegally I'd put them on disks for you, but I'm always too chicken to break the law.
Thanks. It probably played here, but I don't think it's still available, usually it's only for shows currently being aired. I can usually find something if I really want to. I am pretty handy with some computer stuff. I only do it if I really, really need something though. And if I like it I usually buy it, so I don't feel too bad. Some of the things that are illegal in the US are legal here, or there are legal ways around it (for now). I know I can block my ip also to see the video, but the program I tried isn't working. I think I have to change some of my firewall settings, but I don't really want to. I really hate that when I want to watch something. When I want to watch something in the UK (like Merlin or Being Human), I usually go about it in the bad way. I download it. I am too impatient for them to come here, and when I started watching them, they weren't even talked about here or in the US.
I've just started watching Being Human. It's on BBC America. I've come in somewhere in the middle of it though.
They are both here now too, but I started Merlin the day it started in the UK. This is the third year. I downloaded the first few episodes of Being Human last year, but there were only 6 episodes at the time and I wanted to wait until there was at least a whole season.
I just found out Rizzoli & Isles is based on a book series. I wondered where they got a name like that for a show. It makes sense knowing it's based on a real series.
Is anybody looking forward to HBOs A Game of Thrones? I haven't read all of G.R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, but I think HBO could do amazing things with it. I'm not sure anybody here has read them since most here don't read epic fantasy, but you should check the show out when it airs. Warning, it will be fairly political and violent. I know a lot here don't care, but some might. It's not due to premiere until next spring. If they follow the books, G.R.R. Martin has no problems with killing off a main character.
I so want to read the series but it seems daunting. Have you liked the books you've read?We got rid of our HBO when the only thing we were watching on it at the time was Big Love, so I'd probably have to wait to see it until it's on Netflix, unfortunately. :(
It was a bit too political for me. It is fantasy, but barely. I only read the first book. I thought it was ok, and I can see where the series can get better, but I never finished it. The show was greenlighted years ago, and I was thinking of just watching it if I liked it. Sometimes HBO makes book adaptions more appealing to me.I figured, some day, when I finish all of the WoT books and my big epic fantasy series are slow, I'll finish it.
I didn't used to watch much TV, but seems I watch more now than I ever did. Love Chuck, House, Two And A Half Men, Castle, Sons Of Anarchy, Bones, CSI and my 2 absolute favorites, True Blood & The Vampire Diaries. I also love Leverage and Men Of A Certain Age. Used to really like Weeds, but it's not doing a thing for me this year, so far. And I finally got burned out on Rescue Me. I got sick of Tommy's drinking. I've seen up close and personal too many families destroyed by alcoholism to enjoy watching it on TV anymore. And I"m looking forward to Game Of Thrones, too. I always hoped someone would do a miniseries or movie of Martin's FEVRE DREAM.
