TWiT.tv discussion

It would be great to create a bookshelf of the recommendations from the show here in this group. I poked around looking how to do this but did not figure it out. Any ideas?

Under the group menu on the right, there is a link for book shelf... when I viewed that, I had an option to add books. When I added a book, I also had the option to make a new shelf, so I created a new shelf called "book picks", and added all the books from the first page of the willhallmusic site.

Unfortunatly, it seems you have to put books into one of the default bookshelves (read, reading, to read) as well as the custom shelf, so I added all but the last pick to read, and put last episodes pick under current reading. That seemed slightly better than putting the in to-read, though what would be really cool would be for goodreads to create a default category of "recommended", since I would think a lot of groups have a recommended reading list, though the notion of "read" and "to read" are a bit more ambigious in a community setting.

Anyway, hopefully this will get the ball rolling, and others will add more of the books in from that website.

As I've just been keeping track on some of the TWIT book picks, I added two shelf also so we can sort by the show it was recommended on in addition to the "book picks" shelf which would seem to apply to any show book picks of course.

I'd recommend picks be categorized in this way as it seems to be a great tool for finding books.
