That is terrible about the stolen artwork. Those are some great pieces of yours and your husbands. I hope you can recover them some time.
Truly. We hope they will be found.
Or returned, no questions asked.
It was a terrible blow to lose those paintings. We've never quite gotten over it.
I just finished a nice, leisurely reread of this book and it truly is one of my favorites, and the favorite so far. The pacing is brilliant, Dakar's transformation is beyond moving, Arithon's brilliance is stunning, and the last battle is horrendous.
This is the last day of August, and the wrap up of the 'official' discussion for Warhost of Vastmark. If anyone has final questions, or wishes to know the symbolism in the cover art, or any other small thing, fire away.
Tomorrow will open the discussion for Arc III, Alliance of Light, Fugitive Prince. I will see new posts in this book's folder, so newcomers or latecomers, you can participate at any time.

The background on this title is that it was split off the original arc II manuscript for Ships of Merior, and truly holds the finale of that story. Expect the pace to pick up, and everything to intensify.
A few notes about the books: if you have the US hardbound edition of
The Ships of Merior, it INCLUDES the text for Warhost - you'd find the break part marked Part II. One little piece of text is missing, however.
All series titles have a little pastiche bit stuck over the first chapter; this bit was not written for this volume, and in fact was added for the British edition of Warhost, and included in the US mass market paperback.
More, the cover for the British edition was STOLEN in a Federal Express shipment intended for exhibition at World Fantasy Convention in Baltimore, MD. There is still a reward posted for return of the art, details at the link below:
