Mandy (mldavisreads) | 210 comments I just read a book that I wanted to share with the group. It's Written in Bone: Buried Lives of Jamestown and Colonial Maryland and it's about forensic anthropology-- what scientists can discover from exhuming colonial skeletons. It's similar to the show Bones, but more historical. I got interested in the book after I saw the exhibit at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. I learned that bones can reveal a person's age, gender, ancestry, diet, and some diseases they may have suffered from. It's really a very interesting look into a period of American history that not much is known about, as well as a relatively unknown field of science.
